  1. I saw Boomer Esiason. A good QB who will never do anything because the franchise around him is so bad.
  2. I walked in in the third and left about the same time. I don't know how anyone can sit through an entire season of that.
  3. Doesn't have anything to do with a comparing the two so you are taking it wrong.
  4. A couple things. First, I thought the defensive like, in the first half of the osu game, played better than they did yesterday. Second, I don't see the RB running as hard right now as he did at the beginning of the season.
  5. This team is worse right now than it was at the beginning of the season. A lot of people look at the results from year to year. I like to look to see if a coach can make a team better during the course of a single season and this coach is falling well short of expectations.
  6. Good points. I like the term re-tool. The original plan wasn't working to his satisfaction, so he changed and it is working great.
  7. Only the most stupid.....slack jawed of the slack jaws......People with so little to do in their life.......MORONS wouuld go watch this team play. Only an idiot would go watch this team play. Only a fool would be stupid enough to walk into the gates today. So, while I was at the game today I just couldn't believe how bad this team is. I had planned on watching some games by myself at BW3 while my wife had lunch with her friends. I ran into some college fans and decided to go at the beginning of the second half with them. They aren't even trying. I watched half the third quarter and decided to leave. This team can't do anything. Spencer Keith rips off a 40+ yard against our defense? That's terrible. This team has even less talent when you see them in person. It was my first trip to the Big Dialer. Nice place. I won't go to another game unless there are signs of life. See everyone in person in a few years.
  8. I think KD1.0 had an idea of what he wanted to do with the team and the type of player he wanted on the team. We got those players. After a few unfortunate loses in the MAC Championship game, I believe he had enough and was changed his recruiting priorities a little. I'm not saying this, he said it. In comes KD2.0 and we see the results the other evening. It has nothing to do with a "building process" and everything to do with a coach who made a decision he needed to take his program in a different direction. He made the changes for the good of the program and didn't let his ego get in the way. What makes KD2.0 a good coach isn't his building process, but his ability to admit what he was doing was falling short and he needed to do something different. The building process wasn't actually working or had at least stalled. He made a decision to go in another direction and is making that decision work. I'll take an open minded guy before a "building process" guy every day. I have much, much, much more confidence in KD2.0 than 1.0. I also have much more interest in this team than I ever have and I look forward to watching them play as much as possible this season. This is an EXCITING basketball team. KD1.0 teams weren't very exciting and gave the fans more disappointing moments than they should have. Go Zips!
  9. Could you imagine how good the Lakers might have been if Kareem or Magic was in the 6th man role? Diggs starts. Period. Remember when Kevin McHale was the best sixth man in the NBA? One second after the game started, the Celtics would send him to the scorer's table to enter the game. He was actually a starter. It was a joke. Diggs is the best player on the team and looks like what a D1A basketball player should look like. It's called talent and this program finally has the talent it could have had for years. I like Keith Dambrot Version 2.0 much more than Version 1.0. I might even start calling him KD2.0. Please explain. I am confused. KD1.0 banked on kids of lesser talent and didn't ever want to take a risk. His good coaching and "gritty" kids weren't enough to win the MAC the way they could. He even admitted one year after losing the MAC Championship that he had to do things differently and bring in better talent. KD2.0 goes after better athletes and is a good coach. It makes his life easier and the team much better. KD1.0 had to coach his a$$ off every game to get the team to win. KD2.0 can coach the kids up, send them out, sit back and drink coffee and read the NY Times. KD2.0 realized there were better ways and easier way to win basketball games. This is the best Zips basketball team I think I have ever seen and it goes to a paradigm change in the coach...which is a good thing. The old way was not helping the program reach its potential.
  10. It takes a lot of luck as well. One can have the talent and not get with a team that really needs him. I knew a guy who was the 47th guy on the Steelers roster back when teams only had 47 players. He never understood how easy it would be to replace the 47th player and he was gone after one year. There are lots of guys who have the talent to play in the nba or nfl and the right chance doesn't happen.

  12. http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2011...se-scandal.html Buzz Bissinger sums it up for us. I like writers who can paint a bigger picture of the issue. In this case, Buzz gets to the entire culture of college athletics.
  13. By the time these clowns are done, they won't have enough people who care to have a riot and then play a basketball game after.
  14. I'm sure there are as well. But will they? The Paterno machine is alive and well in Pennsylvania. It has become cultlike (see riots to support Paterno). There aren't too many elected officials who want to risk their future elections on a complete investigation. The only solution at this point is Federal involvement. The Feds are already looking into the accuracy of reports submitted to them pertaining to this issue. My understanding is schools are required to submit to the Federal government reports on campus crime and this may have been covered up or not fully reported. I think this is just the tip of the ice and much more about Paterno and others is going to surface. Always remember my Zips friends, we never really know much about the people we see on TV. When you hear reports about what great people like Paterno and Tressel are, you should really question how well the people saying that know them. A lot of the time, they have things in their past that make the opposite true.
  15. Do you mean Zeke or Q?
  16. GP1 going BIG! I'll take the risk. The question is, "Who beats them?" WVU, one MAC team and an unexpected loss. Other than that, they shouldn't lose more than 3 games.
  17. That's because you guys who go to every game want it to be the same way every year. KD changed things up this off season and all of your paradigms/expectations for this team are going to have to change for the better.
  18. You don't understand. The morons who work in college athletics don't know the difference between acutal laws and ncaa rules. There is a difference between the two.
  19. I would like to submit that if my esteemed colleague from Green had a chance to design a form that would allow a University employee to report child rape, along with a six month procedure that would explore every possible avenue of wrong doing before acting, this would have never happened.
  20. Darn, GP1, you came up a winner. Congrats ... !!!It was an easy pick. Talented Zips team against a midling SEC team early in the season...no brainer.
  21. The spread may have been wrong, but the result the same.Handwringers, don't worry about the Zips. They are in late season form and getting better because of the summer activity.
  22. I remember Dambrot saying at the beginning of last year that Diggs was a special player and he can be an NBA draft pick hes that good. I thought he was a bit crazy but now i can definitely see why he said thatDiggs is the best player on the team...hands down.
  23. I guess we know who the loser is and who the guy with a free sweatshirt is going to be.
  24. Give me Abreau and Diggs on the floor at all times. These two guys on the break are dangerous. It's been a long time since I've seen a talent like Diggs on the floor for the Zips. Take this to the bank.... The Zips only lose three games this season on their way to a MAC Championship.
  25. I have a friend who is a Miss St grad. I took the Zips +7.5. Loser has to buy lunch and a sweatshirt of the winning school and wear it during lunch. Sweatshirt goes to winner after lunch.Let's go Zips!!!!!!
