  1. Who cares.....
  2. Don't forget the Notre Dame connection. The Catholic school connection seems to matter a lot around Akron for whatever reason.
  3. A younger version of Rich Rodriguez would be good. While WVU isn't an urban campus, he brought in players he could win with at a school that isn't easy to win at. He related to the players, they responded to him and they won. He brought in a lot of tough kids, many marginal, and got them to work together. The coach has to fit the culture of the school, not change the culture of the school or football program.
  4. Wow, another guy with ND ties. I'm shocked to see that..... not. This guy's resume is slightly better than what Arths will be in 20 years.
  5. Tony Alford. OSU running backs coach. A John Hunter with better current Midwest credibility. Bonus reason: Brother of the late Aaron Alford who coached early in the Brookhart years. A fantastic guy.
  6. Look up the history of Clemson football coaches.
  7. He's a guy with a Twitter account as far as I'm concerned.
  8. Well, if the voice of a D3 team says so......
  9. In the buffet line of Tweet speculation, these are two pretty unappealing items. We'll call them frozen fried oysters and liver.
  10. Is this Brock guy paying people to Tweet about him?
  11. He's a name, but not the right guy for AKRON.
  12. John Hunter, RB Coach, Wake Forest. Midwest roots. MAC roots. With winning programs at places that don't normally win. Experience coaching at urban schools. Stop trying to turn Akron into Notre Dame. Stop hiring D3 coaches. Start by hiring the right guy for AKRON.
  13. He would be the end of the football program.
  14. We could play them annually for the Rubber Green Chilies Trophy.
  15. It shouldn't. The stink of failure on the program under his tenure is too great to erase.
  16. We should steal New Mexico State from the grips of CUSA so we can have exposure to the Rio Rancho TV market.
  17. There isn't always safety in numbers.
  18. Are they located in undesirable cities like Murfreesboro and Bowling Green also?
  19. What is the over/under on the number of years they will be in the MAC before leaving for another conference?
  20. The teams from Ohio should be lobbying like there is no tomorrow to be in the same division.
  21. It just appears that way.
  22. Of course they are. Similar to how someone on the Titanic would have felt if they hit the iceberg 2 miles from a port. Someone explain to me how it is advantageous for us to rescue two programs nobody else wants. If their exposure to TV markets, potential revenue and all of the other happy horse poop we will ultimately hear from conference leadership is so great, how come there aren't conferences lined up to bring them on board? Why is the opposite happening with them being abandoned?
  23. Almost 100% no. The only thing that would make it interesting is if the shake up landed Toledo in the MAC East and we played them in football every season. That will probably not happen though.
  24. Please. Don't give the conference office anymore bad ideas.
  25. University presidents have PhDs so we have to assume they are smart. Will one of them be smart enough to ask how the addition of these two schools helps the athletes, student body, alumni, fans and general communities around these schools? The addition of the two schools actually is detrimental to the mission. Let me be the first to welcome MTSU and WKU to the MAC. The people who run the league are monumentally stupid and they will proceed.
