This is a good point and something I thought about. A lot of the Zips long range shots were coming up short or just badly missed, especially late. Often this is a sign of fatigue and happens in tournaments requiring daily play. Given they won in a blowout the night before, they had time to reduce minutes for key players and I thought fatigue wouldn't have been a problem. You never know....

Great story and move by the University. It cost nothing for this free publicity while at the same time using a state institution to make good on a state mistake. Classes are going to be held. An extra person or two actually costs nothing.

Some are struggling with the English language today. Coaches are responsible for scheme. Players are responsible for execution. Am I the only one who saw key players missing wide open shots last night? Players were put in positions to be successful and fell short. That's part of sports. The players had a very good season and fell short last night.

I had a business associate once tell me, "Being right is the boobie prize.". Congratulations!

I don't feel sorry for him. I feel proud he's a Zip.

Yes, but not in the way you might think. It's poo in the way that sports fans use statistics to make meaningless points. Facts aren't reasons. Each game unfolds differently. Different strategies are deployed resulting in different outcomes across the board, including point totals.

What do you mean by "accountable"? The word wildly misused these days. For example, asking the coach why his best player played terrible isn't holding him accountable. It's asking him to analyze the play of one of his players. Asking the player why he played badly is actually what it means to be held accountable. Holding coaches accountable is targeting questions after a loss towards strategy and tactics. Why did you do X or Y coach? In the case of holding coaches accountable for a single players performance, it might sound like this in last night's case. "Coach, is there anything you could have done differently that would have helped your best player make some of the wide open shots he missed?" I'd like to take this opportunity on this prestigious forum to ask all Americans to begin to use the words accountable and accountability correctly. The English language is great. We should use the words properly.

Seems like we lost by more. Kent was just better.

They are out-everything the Zips.

The refs have nothing to do with this beat down.

Just auto tuned the TV. Next step, buy some ingredients to make cast iron skillet bacon cheese burgers.

Or, he played with another scam artist who did the same thing. Maybe it's common for Americans playing in Europe.

If you read the charges carefully, he may still have a state court problem for lying to the court to get reduced child support payments.

Whenever you see the words "Federal Prosecutor", you need to be scared and he should be scared. The wire fraud charge along carries up to a 25 year prison sentence. The second, five years. Essentially, he falsified his income and then transmitted that falsification to be used to present evidence in front of a judge. The only thing judges hate more than liars are stupid liars who lie to them. There is a good chance Travis is going to spend some time as guest of the Federal government. If the judge has any mercy, his time spent in Russia will be considered time spent in prison and that time will be equal to his sentence.

“I'm positive of this. Whether it's vandalism or messages or guys in the parking lot there, there's always something. There's always going to be something." - Quote from ABJ article I quote in this post. I heard from someone well connected to Ohio high school football that these off field problems have become large enough that people from around the state are talking about it. Maybe the fan bases need a little cooling off period.

Success is measured in winning.

Tough. I'd go with neither. Would probably go to KY just to be able to stay in an improved Cincinnati. A couple beers at Mt. Adams Bar and Grill is a treat. However, Indiana provides the opportunity to stay in Indianapolis and eat at St. Elmo's.

It benefits the leadership of the MAC and Athletic Directors in the member schools. -
On a side note, Mrs. GP1, the luckiest woman in the world, and I went to the Music City Bowl years ago and Kentucky played Clemson. Kentucky fans came in force...and I mean in FORCE. They started early and finished late. It was the first bowl game of the day and I'm pretty certain was on a Saturday. There were reports the next day that there were bars on Broadway (the main bar street in Nashville) that ran out of beer that night.

The money is irrelevant to a school like UK. Anything below $1.5 million is a drop in the bucket. They have SEC Network money and everything that goes along with it. If they want out and have a better option (we can only hope), they could scratch a check tomorrow.

Akron will continue to improve. There is not a winnable P5 road game on this schedule. Another 1-3 start in 2024 is something to look forward to if you like that sort of thing, and I'm confident there are some Zips fans who do. I see them on this board.

I looked at the schedule again just now and I'm in even more disbelief than I was last night. I know there is nothing we can do about the ooc schedule and can only hope our Athletic Department can use it as a lesson in stupidity, and stop the insanity. Kent stands out the most. Tradition is important in college athletics as the tradition attracts people to games. Is there a bigger game on the schedule that can accomplish the task of benefiting the players, students, alumni, fans and greater Akron community than this one? It checks the boxes for both schools. Throwing it on the trash heap of weeknight ESPN football is morally reprehensible if you look at it like I do. The only possible positive is if they somehow salvage a nice day for people and play the day after Thanksgiving game during the afternoon. A nice day in possibly sunnyish weather, off of work with family and friends during the day would be a nice treat for a lot of people. Since I don't live in Ohio any longer, I look for one game I might attend and this could be that game as I'm normally in Ohio anyhow. Play this game at night and I'll be looking towards 2024 for a possibility. This schedule is absolute trash.
