RowdyZip
Why not get this started...it's wednesday. I can start looking forward to the weekend.Army is awful. Worse than Syracuse. We, however, are catching them at the worst time. After a humiliating 28-10 loss to a 1-AA (FCS) team at home and then two weeks to think about it. Do they have the talent to overcome the Zips after stewing for a couple weeks? I think it's gonna be closer than people think.Zips 31Army 24The line is currently Zips (-11). I believe it opened in the vicinity of Akron giving 8, but I could be wrong. This tends to bode that Vegas gamblers are in disagreement with me. What does everyone think? johnnyzip84
I think the Zips should be favored, but not by as much as 11 points. This is a very tough game for me to figure. We've historically had fits stopping the option and our 2008 defensive woes are well chronicled. On the surface thie would seem to indicate that we need to score BIG to won this one. Maybe not, though. Maybe Army's O-line just isn't that good and our weakened defensive front will have a better game than expected. I have a hunch that the latter will occur, and we'll make far less mistakes on offense than last week. So, I'll go:Zips 30The Black Knights of the Hudson
ctmjbowes@sbcglobal.net
I have no definable, nor defensible, reason to predict the following, but will anyway: The defense will look much better against a very weak Army team, and the offense will go crazy. The crazy flukey tip-drill stuff will go Akron's way this weekend and they'll easily handle an undersized and demoralized Army team. I predict the final score to be:Akron 38Army 14I will be at OBC chanting "Drink beer, drink beer, drink beer g-- d--- drink beer. I wonder if I can sneak away from the other half long enough to stop down at the OBC and meet some of you guys! If not where can I watch the game? Zip N' Dots
I love it, Can we change 'Akron Man' to 'Akron Fan'?I'll be at the OBC, I hope to see a whole bunch of Zips there!
Dr Z
Please record (wav or youtube) your cheer, and post it here so more fans can learn (about) it. No weather issues for the offense this week, but we still have to field our 3-3-5.Zips win a game that is closer than it should be 28-21. GP1
Akron giving 11. Never bet against a home underdog.Akron 27Army 17That is basically five scoring drives to three for Army. It will be a good day for the Zips and anyone attending the game. West Point is a beautiful place and one of those things that doesn't make you resent paying taxes to support. RACER
as long as akron does not turn the ball over to army we should win this one.the one thing that scares me is the army running game.if they have the ball and run alott of clock then the zips might have problems.AKRON 28 ARMY 24.zips move to 2-2 with two road wins!! brianwood@the2
My recommendation on this one and it pains me to say it .... take Army on the money line +315. I can't remember the last time that the Zips were a road favorite, let alone a 10 point road favorite and unfortunately that is for a good reason. Army has had two weeks to prepare and the Zips are coming off of a tough home opener. My heart tells me to take the Zips minus the 10, my head tells me to take Army on the M/L. Trust me, I'll be very happy to lose the C note. Go Zips!

ZachTheZip
I was thinking... who will be our 3rd RB? We're all excited about Devoe Torrence, but don't forget that we have Gary Pride waiting for his shot. Pride is a year ahead of Torrence and would allow us to keep him redshirted.
brianwood@the2
Umm ... I'm not sure that Gary Pride is suited to handle AA's role of gaining the "tough yards" between the tackles in the redzone and on 3rd & short (granted AA's role was much larger than that). At 5'9" and a buck eighty isn't he much better suited to the "slot". Besides there is no possible way that his hands can be any worse than Jeremy Bruce's. After the Syracuse game I knew Bruce was going to be a difference maker, I just didn't realize he was going to make a positive difference for the opposition rather than for the Zips. How about catching the freakin ball once in a while!
