Captain Kangaroo
Crowd of 3k to see the Zips vs. the Crew today? Teal Bunbury stole the show for the Zips IMO. Looking for my #12 jersey on GoZips.com soon! #11 and #6 look to be hot items too. A 1-0 loss, but a really exciting exhibition. The Crew played to win, IMO. Just ask the Zips #6, who got crushed on a mid-field tackle about 20 minutes into the 1st half. I'm no soccer afficionado, but I can't help but be excited about this 2009 squad. It is hard to believe they've lost the #1 player in the country, and may actually be a better team this upcoming season?Anyone else see what I saw? Valpo Zip
I didn't see the game captain, but i am sure the Crew played to win. Can you immagine the news headlines when a college team beats a pro team?

tpsjugglerdude
At least we can say we beat ourselves, Akron had the only goal.

What a disappointment to lose the 2-0 lead versus Chicago on Saturday.Yes -- Teal Bunbury is for real, and COULD be this year's Zakuani. Wouldn't a reasonable resemblance be GREAT? Was a very interesting, and no doubt beneficial Spring campaign for Caleb's troops. On another issue, those with questions about the appearance of non-appearance of our youngsters will have the same questions when the season gets under way. I have to look up the dates, but the U-18 WC I think is in September in Nigeria. So the team won't be together fully till late in that month. At least that's my understanding. There is no U-18 World Cup, yikes! The FIFA events this year are U-17 in Nigeria and U-20 in Egypt. No Akron players are on the U-20 roster. Looks like Caleb got his timing just right on recruiting. The only Akron "player" participating in the World Cups will be 2010 recruit Perry Kitchen, Capt of the U-17 squad. As far as the U-18 camp at Home Depot goes -- it ended on Sunday with a scrimmage vs the LA Galaxy reserves. Not much to provide, except Kofi played very solid at central defense all camp, which included three or four scrimmages by A and B squads. A-Team got to play Hollywood United. Wonder if one of our guys got Anthony LaPaglia's jersey? Wow!
72 Roo
At least we can say we beat ourselves, Akron had the only goal. No it didn't. Tutich was playing right attacking mid for the Crew. I hope they are serious about giving him more time with the reserves. To do so he would have to play for dirt cheap pay. Such is the life of someone trying to make an MLS roster. Cheers
