Zipgrad1990 Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 After finishing last season at number 25, the Zips are number 8 in the initial Mid-Major Top 25 Poll:http://www.midmajortop25.com/No other MAC team makes the list, nor does CSU although both are close at 27 (CSU) and 29 (Can't State). Quote
Blue & Gold Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 A few observations:1. Should I be as surprised as I am to see Wright State ranked so highly?2. The A-10 is not considered a mid-major conference by this poll. I suppose I'd agree with that.3. The MAC is not well represented at all. After Akron and Can't, Buffalo follows (way down the list), followed by Miami (way, way down the list) and Central Michigan (way, way, way down the list Lol).4. Anyone else remember the days (not too long ago) when we were thrilled by simply being mentioned with the other "others receiving votes" schools? Man, KD's brought us a LONG way! Quote
RootforRoo44 Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 Just wait until we are on the real top 25 list....it's only a matter of time. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 Just wait until we are on the real top 25 list....it's only a matter of time.Just wait until we shock NC State again. Looking at their forums, we're considered an automatic win. Their complaining will be loud enough to reach the national media, and that's when we'll start to hear about getting some votes even if NC State sucks. Quote

I saw stuff like this on here before the football season and look what happened. I really hope we do go this season and shock the nation, but I'm trying to be realistic and not have too high of hopes. I think we'll most likely lose to NC State and Texas A&M, probably be 10-4 0r 9-5 when we enter MAC Play. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 NC State is not a good team. They will be lucky to have a winning record this year. Quote

I think it just depends on how fast the team progresses. Quote
Let'sGoZips94 Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 Seeing all those teams, and seeing us ranked so high, I'm ready for basketball season! Quote
Quickzips Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 One week until the exhibition opener! Can't wait to get basketball going and get the bad taste of another crappy football season out of my mouth. Quote
Blue & Gold Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 Dropped to 16And rightly so. Quote
Zipmeister Posted November 24, 2009 Report Posted November 24, 2009 I believe we are still one of the top 10 Division I programs in Ohio. Quote

BirdZip Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 Back to 16Look for a big jump after the Malone game. Actually, maybe we will. We beat Niagara, but then they jump back ahead of us by beating two near-500 teams while we lose to a top-20 team. As bad as a game with Malone is, I think if you're going to do it, this is the perfect time for it. Not having to work too hard to prepare during exams week. Quote
