InTheZone
I pray to God we don't do well in the MAC tournament. This school doesn't need any more embarrassments on national television. Straight up, we SUCK, our conference SUCKS, and the fact that we win 20+ games every year playing in it doesn't mean JACK SHIT. '09-'10 Zips = FAILURE. Everything about tonight was truly embarrassing, we looked like a damn high school team, and the worst part is, Can't ISN'T EVEN GOOD!!! I've seen better basketball played at WNBA games.Excuse me while I go guzzle the rest of this bottle of JD so hopefully I can PUKE this team out of my memory.... Yes it was an embarrassment but what if we make a run and go to the tourney again? What if we lose the MAC championship and get into the NIT and run the table on that? You never know. But you are right if we dont WIN the mac tourney or win at least two games in the NIT this year will be a complete failure.

On the bright side, it would be a Hell of a lot worse if we could NOT win 20 games against the horrible teams we play. The quality of play last night was laughable. Especially in the first half. The "builders" on this board should be happy to know there were enough bricks put up last night to build a large part of a new basketball arena. Someone needs to explain to me why we get kids who are great scorers in high school and can't throw the ball into the ocean after a couple of years at UofA. I don't know why any kid with any offensive ability would want to come and play at UofA.How is the hangover today? I think I drank enough water before bed to fend off any problems today. I'll go out and cut the grass here in a couple of hours and sweat out the rest of last night.
GoZips88
The quality of play last night was laughable. As crapping down one's leg is to blowing a big lead, then 'Craptastic!' is a suitable way to describe our quality of play last night. Can't is the superior team but our shooting and shot selection were pathetic as were our drive and determination to stop Can't inside.A shame that we finally fill our building, play in the national spotlight on ESPN, and were not able to bring any more to the table than we did. Craptastic.

I personally have no problem with stressing D if it results in winning more games. But obsessing over D to the point that it becomes a detriment to offense is not so good.I don't know if this is what's happening with KD and the Zips, but it's probably worth considering along with all the other possibilities. This is how 20 win seasons are created.I watch sports through the eye of a Steelers fan. Bill Cowher averaged 10 wins a season over a 15 or 16 year career with the Steelers. There is no doubt he is a Hall of Fame coach. With the exception of winning the Super Bowl once, he came up short time and again in AFC Championship games, lost one Super Bowl and lost early in the playoffs more than he should have. Defense is not the answer.

It's the lack of any offensive rhythm due to too much subbing. How can a guy like McNees or McClannahan get into any sort of shooting rhythm when they are only in for one shot/2 minutes at a time? The Zips played a really good offensive game last year in the MAC Championship and won. Every time they have attempted to win a low scoring game in the Championship they lose. Focus on offense...offense puts pressure on the other team....pressure makes you do things you aren't good at then you lose.

My yard looks freaking great. Had it overseeded last fall and it looks great. The top of the grass where I live in the south turns brown in the winter and does not turn green again when Spring arrives. The first cut of the season has to be really low then you keep your grass really high for the remainder of the year to shade the ground from the southern heat. My first cut was today and there is really green grass under the brown.I'm so proud I feel like Hank Hill does when he mows his yard. It's just plain more fun and entertaining for many fans to see a fast-paced shootout than a plodding defensive battle. Even if the Zips were playing against the same teams on their current schedule and had the same won-lost record, they'd draw more Joe Akrons to the JAR if they were averaging 100 points a game and playing just enough defense to hold their opponents to 99 or less.Stifling defense is only good when it results in more wins. All other things being equal, offensive shootouts are more entertaining to casual fans.

Light up the scoreboard & rattle the rim with dunks on the fast break. Otherwise, I might as well go watch a decent high school game. InTheZone
Crawled out of bed around two today. Luckily the wifey made me drink a couple gatorades before I passed out last night, so the hangover wasn't too bad.To whatever slapdick called me a moron in this thread for saying the Flushes aren't even a good team, maybe you should look outside our little MAC box. Did you watch the first half last night?? Unfortunately I was still sober enough at that point to remember all of it. Honestly, go to the high school state championships this year. You'll see a higher quality of basketball played. If Can't State is the best the MAC has to offer and we're second to them, we're an even sorrier excuse for a conference than I thought we were. You put us or Can't in the MVC or Horizon and we don't bust a grape. The fact that we did not win this sorry conference this year is pathetic. For all the praise lavished on KD since he's been here, what has he really done outside of a few 20 win seasons in a row playing the sisters of the blind outside of conference and some of he crappiest teams in the nation inside of it? Yeah we're in the upper echelon of the MAC. At this point in MAC history, that doesn't mean we don't suck, and that definitely doesn't mean we're relevant in College Basketball. I'm glad at least GP1 can see that. Not bad for a Faust guy, he must've been in the 17 percent
