zippy5
Congrats on a fine season guys, keep your heads up. I know GoZips is going to come on here and call you out, but you left it all on the floor last night. I didn't see on once of quit from anyone on the floor last night. It stinks we lost, but I feel a lot better seeing everyone give it all they have. Chris and Jimmy, you guys have done nothing but win these past four years. What senior class can say they've been to a conference championship all four years? We've all been lucky to watch this team the past few years, I'm glad I chose akron, or I never would have gotten to see you. Wherever Chris and Jimmy end up, we can all agree they will be winners; successful. I couldn't be any more proud of this group of guys. Do we really have to wait 8 months until next season? I can't wait to see McNees' senior year, I think he found another level this weekend, along with Zeke. These boys will be hungry next year.Go Zips! Let'sGoZips94
You know, these guys are like my best friends. I'm sad to see TC, CMoon, and Jimmy go this year. But hey, we've still got the CBI to win. Imagine how much more these guys can grow while playing in the CBI. They are going to get some decent mid major experience while also getting more opportunties to play. Great season so far. Go get 'em in the post season. Dave in Green
"We'll play somewhere. People don't understand. Playing in the NIT or even the CBI, that's not chopped liver. There's not many teams that play in the postseason." (KD) I'm pretty sure the NIT is out of reach with Can't already there. But the CBI is the tournament that used UA as its poster child after the Zips were dissed by the NIT. So I think the chances of a CBI bid are as close to 100% as you can get. It's hard to get excited about the 3rd best post-season tournament. On the other hand, part of my sadness last night was that I had just seen Jimmy Conyers and Chris McKnight play for the last time. I realize now that I'll get to see them play some more in the CBI. I'm kind of looking at it as an extension of the regular season, an opportunity at some bonus games. Since I find some excitement in every game the Zips play, why would I not feel at least a little excited to be able to see them play some more this season? By the way, all CBI games are being broadcast on the HDNet, which means great HD video instead of the muddy non-HD video typically seen in MAC games. Dave in Green
Or maybe the CIT, where one site currently has UA playing at Duquesne: NIT/CBI/CIT Bracketology
akronzips71
You have to pay to play in both those tourneys. So that fact alone makes it not so impressive, and I don't know if UA is willing to put up the $$. It won't upset me if they don't. In the end, we did not earn that post season play. Had two chances. Should have, could have. Did not.

vmd9
Or maybe the CIT, where one site currently has UA playing at Duquesne: NIT/CBI/CIT Bracketology I would hate that...playing a team barely above .500 and lost in the first round of the A10 tourney? But I thought people wanted us to play more teams from the A-10. Isn't a crappy A-10 team better than what we have been playing? Or will people not be satisfied until we play every team in the top 10 every year all on the road to try and make up for playing the suckfest of the MAC West? That was an earlier NIT bracketology, when they thought Can't was going to the NCAA tournament. The latest NIT bracketology, on another site, shows Can't as a 3 seed. NIT Bracketology In any case, we'll know for sure who's going where later this evening.
ZachTheZip
Well, the NIT bracket should be released soon, and once that's done the other two will come out.

I'll follow them through whatever post-season appearance they may get. I implore everyone to come out and support them if we get a home game no matter what tournament it is. I could swear I saw the Catamounts beat Boston U. yesterday to secure a first round 16 vs 1 battle with a Syracuse club that probably can't remember the last time the two met. http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball...0318_VERMON@SYR How can you not love Tom Brennan?
