Over/Under On Attendance?

$20 for Lowers, $15 for Uppers, $10 for Adult and $5 for a Child. I would guess 400 fans as the over/under.

I think $10 a ticket with buy one get one, would give our seniors a chance to go out with a respectable crowd.

Does the CBI have a hand in setting the prices?

Go Zips!

Any team that buys into the CBI is signaling the rest of of the world "Hey look at us; we are desperate for attention."

If that were the case, it would mean that people pay attention to the CBI. I don't think that's the case.

I like the CBI. More competitive basketball at the JAR is always good.

My over/under is 2,900.

Quick, tell me three teams that played in the CBI the last two years? Who won it all each year to take home the title of "we're #98 or whatever"? No peaking now.

Tulsa and Oregon State

I have no idea whether you answered the second question correctly or not, but if you did you either peaked or you have no life whatsoever.

I dont know if you are implying that my knowledge "peaked" at this moment or that i "peeked" but i actually had heard of this tournament before and even watched a title game in it last year.

Just pay attention to college basketball a little bit and you'll pick up things like that.

They teach you the difference between peeked and peaked at college basketball games now!! In the good old days we learned that stuff in grade school.

But enough about grammar. Here's an update on the Zips opponent:

I’m thinking you will find their style extremely deliberate.

I am reminded of the time the snail was run over by the turtle. The snail was rushed to the hospital and a doctor asked him, “What happened?” “I don’t know,” the snail replied, “it happened so fast.”

After he recovered the snail attended a UWGB basketball game and spent most of the game yelling at the players to pick up the pace.

Any game against a good mid-major team (or any good team) is OK by me. It's another game that Marshall, Cvetinovic, McClanahan, Steward, McKnight and others can gain game experience. I don't think any fans here are salivating at the chances of a CBI Title. I think most are just happy to get another game experience for our team, and another game to watch their favorite team.

+1

"Extremely deliberate" is a kind way to put it.

The not-so-fast-there Zips are 195th in the country in possessions per game, averaging 67.5 per 40 minutes.

UWGB is 291st (out of 347 D1 teams) at a glacial 64.9 possessions per 40 minutes.

By comparison, hyper VMI is #1 with 85.7 possessions per 40 minutes.

EDIT: I should have mentioned that UWGB is not quite as deliberate as the MAC's very own Miami, which ranks 338th out of 347 teams with 61.7 possessions per game.

I heard ticket sales are "very disappointing." Let's spread the word to get as many fans there as possible.

This whole season's ticket sales have been very disappointing.

Casual Akron fans are down about not winning on Saturday. To them, the season ended already. We know the benefits that the CBI gives the program. We want to see the seniors play one last time. Casual fans don't care enough about that stuff to buy a ticket.

Student attendance will be way way down thanks to Spring Break.

The only way attendance is decent is if we get to the best-of-three championship series.

Wow. At least we had more than VCU/GW

Other CBI attendance Wed.

Duq at Princton - 665

Charl at EKY - 1,750

Col. St. at Morehead St - 2,202

eww we poo eee at Hofstra - 952

BU at Oregon St - 2,913

and in the NIT

Tulsa at Can't - 1,175 (not much better)

Perhaps it's a good thing that these tournaments will be a thing of the past if/when NCAA goes to 96 teams. (are they doing this for sure?)

I hope so. I dont get how any zips fan can be against expanding a tournament that we have trouble getting into. 32 more teams = a better chance...period.

My prediction is the next expansion is to either 68 or 72 teams. Instead of one "play-in" game there will be 4 or 8 of those games to see who has the right to lose to the 1 and 2 seeds. In the 72 team scenario, that automatically eliminates 8 of the smaller conference teams before the real tournament even starts and opens up 8 more spots for the majors.
