My highly uneducated and completely non-expert opinion is that they'll have the stands generally completed by the end of the week. It looks like the building under the stands is structurally complete, leaving only the stands, press box, team benches, and all the final cleanup and aesthetics. As we all saw with the Info, the bleachers won't take very long at all to complete. However, the pressbox will probably run them another week or so to get it assembled and all associated wiring installed. My educated guess is that the pressbox for the soccer stadium will be very reminiscent of the one on the softball field given the similarities between the two stands.

Id be willing to bet that most of everything will be completed, aside from generally cleaning up the place with landscaping and minor details inside the locker rooms, by the end of next week.

I'm not sure if this has been posted yet. I found it buried beneath an article about Toledo's home game against the U.

This season, the Zips will be league favorites again. New sod and grandstands are being installed at Lee Jackson Field, and the Zips already report 90 percent of the new chair-back seats and 60 percent of the reserve seats in the new bleachers have been sold to season ticket holders.

I was lookinf up some info on USF for the game tomorrow, and came across the news that they're building a new soccer stadium as well. Not that they need it. Ah, the luxury of being BCS and building new athletic facilities every decade just because you can.

I like ours better, especially after we complete the next phase. They do get credit for a unique design, though.

Our upgraded soccer stadium is beautiful. But, what really makes it better than others is the fans, especially the AK-Rowdies, and the awesome team that plays in it. I defy anyone to match the atmosphere we have! Go Zips!

It only looks better than ours in that it appears to have restrooms and concession areas. In our place those are yet to come. They copied our berm seating and I wonder if they will try to get a Rowdies-type group together. Nice place all in all. Ours will be better and bigger.

Does anyone know how our future baseball stands & the future concessions area are all going to fit into this space. After the football scrimmage last week I went over & took a look @ the new stands it sure doesn't look like there is room enough for new baseball stands, restrooms & a concession area.

South bleachers were open for today's women's game. View from the top row in front of the press box (in the shade) was great. I think the folks who purchased mens soccer season tix in the reserved bleachers are going to be happy with their seats!

Go Zips!

I happened to take this picture this morning while getting some breakfast at the union. The iPhone doesnt like to take brighter pictures apparently :(

Oh and in case you can't tell, they were mowing the grass there today, so Id say that field handled all that rain PERFECTLY fine. :D
