scottditzen
My two cents: If Basset chooses to I wish him the best and hope he is able to make a nice living playing the game he loves and is able to support his family. Good man. But, I'm hoping he decides to stick around one more year. I pay for my Zips tickets and I want to see the best competition possible in the JAR. I don't get as much of a thrill watching the Zips beat down lousy competition. I much prefer seeing games against the Rhode Islands, VCU's & strong MAC teams - which there have been fewer and fewer of in recent years. I hope Groce keeps OU at a high level. Whether or not Basset leaves, OU will still be a marquee game @ the JAR next year. I just wish more MAC schools were much stronger. It would make our home schedule much more exciting. Anyway, good luck Armon. Agree 100 percent.

RACER
i know everyone wants us to play a harder schedule.i do agree with gp that just because we schedule harder teams akron will be better at the end of the season.you play your occ scedule first then all the mac schools.i just don't see how it would be a good idea next year to schedule harder teams.we lose to much in the frontcourt this year. you have no idea if any of the freshman can play.we need at least one of them to play next year, or the zips are in trouble.i am not saying we should not schedule better teams.just don't play any d-3,r d-2 teams.try to get a home and home with some teams like vcu.kd and the head coach are freinds so im sure they could work something out. Whether or not Bassett leaves might not be an issue in Athens. Their best shooting guard, Steven Coleman, was out much of the year with a broken hand. True, Bassett got hot in the MAC tourney and against Georgetown, but Coleman is a much more complete player, according to many reports. Dave in Green
Just do a Google search for "Armon Bassett" with quotes, show Options and select Past 24 Hours to get only the most recent news. Several stories about Bassett telling friends on Facebook that he's going to declare for the NBA draft.

Blue & Gold
Wait, maybe not! I hope his family is/will be well cared for, but on a selfish note, I do hope he returns for another season. It's good for the MAC.
MDZip
Wait, maybe not! I hope his family is/will be well cared for, but on a selfish note, I do hope he returns for another season. It's good for the MAC. If you're going to be selfish, root for him not to come back. It might be good for the MAC, but it's terrible for the Zips.
