They didn't have rosters available at the scrimmage either. My sons wanted to watch their former teammate.

The coach is doing his part, with having these things for us. It's the Mickey Mouse athletic department that can't figure out how to tie their own shoes.

Actually, they did. They weren't widely distributed probably, but a couple of young ladies were walking around handing them out.

Has the 2010 roster, with none of the freshmen on it, and no depth chart.

Whether this is Ianallo and someone on his staff's fault or gozips.com fault= bush league. ESPECIALLY the roster not being updated!!!

Do you really think it is the responsibility of the coaching staff to update the web page?

Gentlemen= I am not blaming the coach for the web page/web site updating. My reference about the coaching staff was much more about the depth chart and making sure it had been submitted to someone (who...I don't know). I'm sure SOMEONE at UA could put together a depth chart, but coaches are responsible everywhere for SUBMITTING (not POSTING) the "true" depth chart.

They do have depth charts. They change every day during two-a-day practices based upon the performance of the players in the previous practice. I'm sure if the web master wants one, all he has to do is ask.

I'm less worried about depth charts and rosters, and more worried about what they are going to do this Saturday. I don't care about their names, who their parents are, what their favorite snack is, where they are from, what year they are in or anything else other than how they perform this Saturday. It's time to start winning....I really could care less about the person in the uniform. 20+ years of losing has been enough for me.

Great. I wasn't worried about each player's favorite snack either, until you brought it up. :(

Well, they added 4 freshmen. Giorgio Bowers, Keith Sconiers, ShelDon Miller, and Jamar Williams.

Possibly not coincidentally, those are the four true freshmen most likely to see playing time this season.

Shoes or rosters?

Game week= a 2 deep depth chart should be released. Sorry, but that is the way it should be for a FBS program.

Personally..I would like to see if some of the freshmen are in the 2 deep. Who is backing up Carter and LeFrance at WR? Did Bowers beat out Burney for back-up RB? 2nd starting safety? Back=up LBs?

Wanting to see a depth chart a few days before the game has NOTHING to do with being "worried about what they are going to do this Saturday". Actually, I take that back= if we see that 2-3 expected starters on the Oline are NOT in the 2 deep (since 1.5 weeks ago there was a lot of concern about the Oline health)= then I am a bit more worried about this Saturday!!!

4 True Freshmen are now listed on the GoZips.com roster.

1) Giorgio Bowers - RB

2) ShelDon Miller - DB

3) Keith Sconiers - WR

4) Jamar Williams - LB

I guess these are the True Frosh that may get some PT.

I keep reading about Antoine Russell, a freshman WR who is getting a lot of PT but I can't find him on the GoZips.com roster (either under Freshmen or Red-shirt Freshmen), or on the ZipsNation Commitment List, or on the Rivals.com Commitment List. Who is this guy?!

If so, they're on break :D

Richard Hall was basically running with the 1st team offense at TE during the scrimmage. What about him?

They're also way behind on up-dating the profiles for each player. This could be slowing down the rest of the roster update.

I am missing the media guide as much as anything. Surely they're having one made for the actual media, aren't they? Now I'll quit calling you all Shirley.

True Freshman Austin Bailey will be the starting FB
I'm excited to see this kid hit some Orange. It sure will be nice to see a 250 lb kid opening holes for a RB rather than the QB running next to our RB. Ask Kentucky fans how much they will miss FB John Conner "Terminator" this year.

Here's a template for GoZips to follow, no charge. They (GoZips.com) used to produce a very similar document for all of our games. It's pretty sad when we'll probably be able to get more information out of the opponent's official web site than our own :mad_flame:

Zips release their projected starting line-up. Wish he could have linked to it.

But at least we know a few more positions. True Freshman Austin Bailey will be the starting FB, and Senior Kyle Weber is the starting TE.

Here is an article from Tom Gaffney. One of these guys (Tom or Randy) must be wrong regarding the offensive line starters against Syracuse (see last paragraph).

Without ever hearing Andy do a game, I like the choice. Anybody have news on what Stams is up to? Wiki says City Manager of Brunswick?!?!?

PS Anybody actually subscribe to the BJ? Where have the recent Zip football articles been appearing? Front page of the sports section, or buried?

Stams signed on with STO for the MAC games.

Everything Zips football and soccer related has been on the front page of the sports section.

Stams is supposedly working for STO now. The ABJ articles are generally on the front page of the sports section, at least more often than not.

As for today's articles, New Zips football coach Rob Ianello eager to pass tests The idea that he's taking a test and being graded on it implies that there are right and wrong answers to situations like deciding whether to go for 2 or to do a fake punt. It seems like a way to re-enforce conservative playcalling. The other article is Tom Gaffney interviewing himself about five questions on Zips football.

Nice job Tom. Good Q&A. I think I agree with all.

1. How will the players react to the new offensive and defensive schemes?

The Zips now will run a pro-style offense and conventional 4-3 defense. The offense is much harder to pick up than the defense. The quarterback will be under center a large percentage of the time, and that is something neither starter Patrick Nicely nor backup Matt Rodgers has done in high school or college.

2. How will seniors Alex Allen and Nate Burney perform at running back?

The pro-style offense needs a consistent running game to be effective. A major concern is whether the 210-pound Allen can regain the form he had before suffering a horrible hip injury in 2008 and whether the 5-foot-6 Burney can emerge as one of the surprises of the season.

3. Will Nicely develop into a top-flight college quarterback?

All indications are that he will, but fans must remember he is only a sophomore. His strong arm and instincts will dazzle periodically, but it might take time for him to become consistent, the hallmark of all great quarterbacks. His potential intrigues the new coaching staff.

4. Will the front seven be able to carry the defense until the secondary gains experience?

The Zips' defensive line and linebackers have the potential to be much improved over previous years. Lineman Almondo Sewell and linebackers Mike Thomas and Brian Wagner are playmakers. But only corner Manley Waller returns in a secondary that needs to develop fast.

5. Will injuries be avoided on the offensive line and at linebacker?

These areas have exceptional talent in the first unit, but the backups are untested and unproven. Injuries here would put a damper on the season.
