I had gained a lot of respect for BuckZip as he kept quiet on ZN.o regarding this topic. Then Trimmy10 typed one of the all-time ill-conceived lines in the history of the board -- "Where is BuckZip for some perspective when you need it?"

The flood gates opened, and BuckZip hasn't shut up, defending his Buckeyes on the Zips message board ever since. Thanks for issuing the carte blanche, Trimmy.

I was wondering whether BuckZip could be objective about tOSU in light of all the undeniable evidence of Tressel's problems or be the typical brain-washed apologetic OSU fan. If objective, he earned my respect. If not, I could tune out every past, current, and future comment he makes about tOSU, especially when the topic involves tOSU's relation to UA.

I didn't do anything to perpetuate the OSU hatefest beyond my original inquiry to hear BuckZip's perspective. The only topic I have been consistently negative about on ZipsNation is iCoach. I've said my peace on the subject, and am hoping (but not expecting) to eat crow.

The ncaa is going to go easy on osu because they want to go easy on them. They aren't going to find anything else out because they aren't going to look for it.

Thanks for the links. Having trouble with the swimming through the sea of crap that is twitter and the Pat Forde posts. Bruce Hooley doesn't seem to have anything new. If you can offer more help, it would be appreciated. As far as the OTL report, nothing new there.

Lastly, right on the money CK. Tressel was a con man and he conned almost an entire state.

Links for the two were only to give people reference as to who they were so folks were able to "consider the source". Not too much new on the OTL report except that both Pat and Bruce feel that Columbus State should get one or two year of bowl bans.

My opinion is that BuckZip should just say tOSU is guilty as hell and so far the NCAA has gone light on them. Anything less than USC-level punishment is because of the power, prestige, and influence that they wield. All the other defenses of personal attacks from other board members should be let go and we should stop attacking his love for tOSU. Some things will never change, and that's one of them.

Why would he respond differently? Because unlike every other debate that can't be settled on the field between the two schools, this situation is as cut and dry as it gets. There is no way Tressel/tOSU are in the right (or anywhere near it) on this one. If BuckZip can't admit that here and now, he never will and has zero credibility. Hence, it is not worth my effort to debate anything he says in the future.

For all the OSU gear that is worn on campus and all the MAC Conference alumni who don't support our schools but cheer for OSU instead, it would be a small consolation to hear a hybrid alumni member at least be objective and say tOSU is wrong. And that's not a personal attack on BuckZip.

I respectfully disagree. USC got the book thrown at them because they told the ncaa basically to f-off when they started to look into the program.

The ncaa is going to do more than protect tosu. They are going to protect the Big Ten in a year when the conference is making major changes bringing on a new member and a coference championship game. The Big Ten doesn't have time to add a division, in additon to Leaders and Legends, called Probation.

I never started this. I stayed out of it for the most part. Someone asked me a question and I responded. Then after a bunch of responses and putdowns I still stayed out of it. Then someone else decided they had to bring this to the surface again and bring my name up. Whether it is OSU, UA, the color of my eyes or the color of my hair, or my children, if someone brings me up (mentions my name) I will respond to it. I have tried to let it go. I have not been the one to keep starting it back up.

Like I have said before, the fact that this thread is longer than the soccer NC and the basketball team in the tourney combined is very telling.

Junior Travis Howard will be the top cornerback and looks ready for a breakout year. Fickell likes the growth of junior safety Orhian Johnson, picking him as one of the players who represented the Buckeyes at the Big Ten meetings in Chicago. There's some talent and depth but a lot of questions.
