Buckzip Posted April 6, 2011 Report Posted April 6, 2011 Offense/Defense 1st String Spring depth charts mean very little. I'm just happy that we have enough players to have a lineup. Quote
Blue & Gold Posted April 6, 2011 Author Report Posted April 6, 2011 Considering our lack of depth at RB, I keep thinking that Rossi has a legitimate chance of coming in & starting @ RB as a true frosh. A hard-nosed, 6-0, 230 RB might look real nice lined up in the backfield. Quote
Dr Z Posted April 6, 2011 Report Posted April 6, 2011 Kicking problems solved?I sure hope so, although I'm pretty sure he won't be able to run full speed at the ball for 12 yards and kick it. Quote

I truly beleive that most D1 kickers look good like that with no rush and all the time needed to set up. Doing this under a rush and game pressure is a tad different. It's sort of like saying you are a great hitter because you can hit the ball in batting practice. Quote
Dr Z Posted April 6, 2011 Report Posted April 6, 2011 I hope he's awesome so I can hold up my sign on the rise that reads: -------------- MARCHEESY ___FOR _THREESY -------------- Quote

When you have only 120 D-1A schools, and maybe only a couple dozen open kicking jobs every year, I would think that the candidates for those jobs would all be able to stand out on a practice field and boot field goals all day long. Igor was the #5 rated high school kicker in the entire USA, and made 16-19 his Freshman year at UA...then he opted for that Rick Ankiel foot surgery, and it all went to hell....bet he regrets it. Igor was highly ranked. I remember that too. What a huge letdown. Quote
Hilltopper Posted April 6, 2011 Report Posted April 6, 2011 I like how fast the ball gets airborne. Not kicking the ball into the butts of the O-lineman is good. Quote
a-zip Posted April 6, 2011 Report Posted April 6, 2011 He is kicking off a block.......hopefully he can kick of the ground. Quote
