ZachTheZip
If you have been down Exchange recently, you've seen that the scoreboard is badly damaged from the windstorms this past month. I fear that another storm or two and the everything will be gone but the structural elements.

More tilting at windmills, huh?
ZachTheZip
The back was gone weeks ago. Now the sides are blown out, the electronics are exposed to the weather, the sound system is loose and moving around in the wind, and all it needs is one good gust from the south to pop out the ad panels. scottditzen
Who here is surprised? I never trusted a tarp to protect anything of value lol.
Captain Kangaroo
It seemed like the scoreboard segment responsible for displaying the Zips offensive point total was broken for the entire 2010 season?
Hilltopper
I would imagine that every component of the scoreboard is designed for use outdoors. If your so concerned, perhaps you should contact someone at UA.
Dr Z
Is it possible that they took down the "tarp" and they are going to replace it with something permanent, or even some new artwork advertising the up and coming season??? Either way, I'm not going to miss any sleep over it like....
RootforRoo44
Winds are picking up and the panels in the front are starting to wobble in the wind. According to weather.com, there could be a period of sustained winds tonight 40-50mph. That scoreboard is game-over.
Captain Kangaroo
Any chance we can re-activate that old InfoCision web cam and watch the scoreboard sway 24/7?

If they took down the tarp on purpose, whoever decided to shred it to pieces and leave the frayed edges attached to flap in the wind should be fired. Thanks for the update Chicken Little. Just so you know Zach...The components of the scoreboard are designed to be OUTSIDE. Movement of the scoreboard may have been designed into the scoreboard. I was in Raleigh yesterday and today. A tarp flapping in the wind has nothing on what has happened around there. The world is not coming to an end. Rockhopper Wallaroo
I'm sure they can transfer the lite brite scoreboard from the Rubber Bowl.
Hilltopper
I had to go downtown this morning so I stopped by the Info and took a look at the scoreboard. All I can say is I hope that Zach is not an engineering major. If he is I have no faith in what's being taught to our engineering students. zippyfan34
I don't see any dead unicorns. I never noticed the palm trees next to the scoreboard before. I need to stop watching the beat down on the field and pay more attention to the beautiful Ohio scenary at the games.
Spin
I brought this up a couple weeks ago. You know they're going to show up September 10 a half hour before the game and wonder why they can't get the scoreboard to work. The one at the Rubber Bowl is still intact. Aww hell don't give them any ideas.

Zipsrifle
I hear RI is trying to recruit a few guys with enough guts to go in there and put up new vinyl. They will be heros in Akron! They will sing songs about them!
