• Tailgating. Nice day. Forecast looked threatening, but it turned out great. Was much worse 17 miles north.• I sat on the grass for a quarter of the game. What a great place to watch college football.• Trying to drink 300 different kinds of beer, and watching ZN members get on board.• Making good money betting on the game.

There are plenty of positives if you just know where to look:1. Zips made a fieldgoal.2. Probably plenty of room to stretch out if you needed to.3. No traffic problems.4. Sustainability crowd is happy that the small crowd caused less trash to be recycled.5. At least one person got drunk.6. Small crowd keeps stadium maintenance costs low.7. Scored more points than the previous week.

1. I won another convert over with my delicious marinated grilled chicken.2. Tasty beer and good conversation during the tailgate.3. P.A. announcer repeatedly giving a call to Bernard Price was funny.4. I too, enjoyed the first quarter tailgate extension.5. The field goal actually looked like a legit D-1A play.6. Larry Nance shared his M&Ms with my brother in law.

1. The delay gave my wife plenty of time to schmooz with her boss.2. We were able to use "getting the 2 yr old to bed" as a convenient excuse to duck out after half time.3. Jawon Chisholm broke one of those big runs we have all been talking about.4. Suel looked like a good receiver.5. Great new "This is Akron" video to start the game.

The best was when the AK-Rowdies booed the clown who wore the osu jersey and wanted to sit in the empty section next to them. They harrassed him so much he left the section
That's awesome!! Nice job Rowdies!!My group spent our rain delay drinking again, and betting on how many people would be left when the game resumed.I must say, a decent amount of people stuck around. Some folks were guessing only 500 would be left. That wasn't the case at all.

Good show, Rowdies!! Well done!!

1.) Beer store directly across the street came in handy...couldn't say that for the Rubber Bowl lot. Learned never to let the wife pack the cooler ever again. Never, ever ever.2.) My son got a nice photo with Zeke, who remembered him from Summer basketball camp.3.) Great people tailgating...always the fastest 4-6 hours in the world for me.4.) K.e.n.t. seems to be horrible yet again.5.) Best field goal I've seem come off a Zips foot since 2009.

I guess this explains why you didn't have a laundry list of delicious brews with you. Ouch. I wondered why you were holding out on adding to the total.

Hey, mind if a Temple fan chimes in here.1. Infocision is a nice stadium. Easy to get to, clean, appropriate concessions, ample toilets. Nicely designed. We have been engaged in a campus stadium debate for decades, if we build one, we agreed it should be like yours.2. $2 molson cans at bar across the street? how can you beat that to wait out a lighnting storm. Lots of friendly Akron fans and a helluva hot bartender3. I think you have faced two very good teams. I'm hoping this week to beat Penn State. There are lots to do with Temple's resurgence but here is a fact that cant be overlooked. We probably redshirted 40-50 players in the last 3 years. We never had that luxury and I clearly see how important it is. We were discussing Akron fans and I know, as a 25 year Temple fan, its very discouraging opening a season like the Zips have. I've lived it time and time again. As recently as 2005, we lost 63-16 to Arizona state then 65-0 vs Wisconsin where we never even got a 1st down. Then 3 years later we were leading UCLA at halftime in our 1st Bowl game in 30 years. I think so much of this is coaching staff. If you have the right one it can be done. If you dont, make sure your Uni doesnt waste YOUR time paying the wrong oneGood Luck beat the East, especially Ohio !

I agree with CK on the field goal (he also nailed it on blog #2, but keeping with the positive theme I'll leave it at that). As someone pointed out in another thread, Marchase is 0.500 for the season. But the miss was maybe a few feet wide left. He looks like he has good mechanics and the rest of the FG team seams to have it down. Here are a few others:1) True FR Safety Bre Ford (#23) laying his pads squarely on Matt Brown and launching the ball 15 yards backward. It's been a long time (Dwight Smith, Andre McRay?) since we had a DB who releshes contact like this kid apparently does.2) My Big Lots tailgate tent surviving its 1st game (good thing I bypassed Dollar General, huh Keener? )3) Mr & Mrs JZ84 finally getting to wear our #34 jerseys :thumb: 4) The rain didn't mess with the best part of the day.5) I could have sworn I heard someone calling me 18356_1_100.jpg???

I'll might take a beating for throwing out this jinx, but in the first two games, we have not thrown an INT. We've fumbled three times an only lost one of them.We did well with penalties the first game and only had four (OSU had 3). Shot ourselves in our large kangaroo feet last week with 8. Can't have that many penalties.

My bad. I misread the stats on GoZips. I'll still take only one INT in two games.
