Captain Kangaroo
Nik has a sense-of-urgency this season. He didn't return to the Program to play in the NIT. He has the size to body-up against anyone. He will have a monster season.
mes102
I feel that this game could go either way tonight. First time playing in a huge crowd for some of these young players, and need to get use to it. Then, we could also run them up(tempo, not score) since they only played 7 players against Eastern Kentucky, or we could power it inside and get them in foul trouble...this team is so versatile ...I feel that Zeke will be the dominance self on defensive end again, but I just feel he'll only get 6-8 points because this team is so deep...Chauncey is going to be the leading scorer tonight in my opinion. When he shoots a three, it's almost automatic...I expect that to happen tonight...Akron wins by 4. If not, we lose by 15...That's how unsure I am of this team right now at this moment... GP1
I have a friend who is a Miss St grad. I took the Zips +7.5. Loser has to buy lunch and a sweatshirt of the winning school and wear it during lunch. Sweatshirt goes to winner after lunch.Let's go Zips!!!!!! Dr Z
Looking forward to the game tonight. If the staff has Zeke convinced this is a big game, he will score over ten. Seems to me the bigger the game, the more focused Zeke gets. Think ND and Ken+. I chose Chauncey as high scorer tonight, only going by what I hear, not by what I have seen. That changes tonight though. Step it up KD!
johnnyzip84
I have a feeling the Nitro Net Nuker will be on red alert hitting 6 of 8 threes and finishing with 18 to lead the Zips to a 77-69 victory.
Dr Z
Dan likes Zips plus sevenThe Bulldogs are just 3-13 ATS in their last 16 non-conference games and 0-3-1 ATS in their last four home games. The Zips on the other hand are 4-0 ATS in their last four road games, 5-2 ATS in their last seven non-conference games and 13-3 ATS in their last 16 games overall

Quickzips
This is the type of game that the Zips need to win in order to start taking that next step from top-level MAC team to consistent NCAA contender. I just wish it was coming a little later into the OOC schedule as right now I have no clue what to expect out of this group. There are certain things I will be looking for. I'm very interested to see how our guards handle themselves after the embarassment of 23 turnovers against John Carroll. I'm also interested to see if this group continues to suffer from the lengthy scoring droughts that seemed to plague our last few seasons. Finally, I'm interested to see who KD is going to put on the floor at the end of the game if this one is tight. In the past you could pretty well bank on McNees and Roberts in the backcourt with some combination of McKnight, McClanahan, Diggs, Cvetinovic and Zeke up front (depending on if we were trying to close out a game and needed defense or if we were trying to rally from behind and needed scoring). I'll take the Zips by three points, but I really have no clue what to expect tonight. God I'm amped up for this one! Wish I was in Mississippi right now. WinZip
If the Zips can hold them under 70 I have a good feeling, but we're still too raw to win a shootout.
Dave in Green
Just looking at size, MSU starts two big forwards (6-10, 270, and 6-11, 230) and three guards (6-2, 6-3 and 6-8). The 6-8 guard is a freshman who weighs only 180 pounds, so he could also be considered a wing forward. So let's say their front line is 6-11, 6-10 and 6-8, with a backcourt of 6-2 and 6-3. This makes them a little taller than the Zips starters, but not a big difference. The only two subs they used against EKU, and who each played about half the game, are a 6-9, 253-pound center and a 6-3 guard. Again, they appear to have a slight height advantage over the Zips subs, but no glaring differences.MSU starts two seniors, two juniors and the skinny freshman, and their two key subs are a junior and a sophomore. The Zips start two seniors, two juniors and a sophomore, and it's only when the Zips go deeper into the bench that they have a little less experience. Now when it comes to talent, we'll see in a few minutes how that works out! K92
He did throw that one down with some authority. I am starting to understand why those who were watching practices were giving such positive reports.
