BSU web site article on tomorrow's meeting.

I think the following quote must be left from an older article ala the "cut and paste without adequate review" technique.

The Cardinals have a 1-5 record against the East Division so far this season with their lone win coming against Buffalo
Huh???

Regardless, this should be a very interesting game. Can the younger Zips handle success? Ball St is 9-0 when scoring over 70 points. But the Zips have shown lately that they can win in the 60s, 70s or 80s. Personally, I hope the defense comes out right away with the intensity required to keep the Cards under 70.

Looking forward to the call on STO. Go Zips!!!

I think CK said the number 20 isn't hard and fast, and changes from game to game depending on the opponent.

So maybe we should refer to it as the CK Harney Variable Rule.

Harney needed only 14 minutes to drop 21 on Can't and turn what looked like a Zips loss into a win. I don't think anyone predicted that in advance.

If you measure only Harney's second half stats against Can't, the performance was even more remarkable. He scored 19 points in 9 minutes.

My prediction to Kflasher the morning of the game via text was:

I'm pretty sure the Zips will pound the ball inside in an effort to get Can't State's bigs in foul trouble. Then unleash the Harney in the 2nd Half.

Not bad.

On of our photoshop experts needs to whip up an image of a "Can of Harney" .. a la .. a can of whoop ass. Because that's what KD's packing some nights this season.

Go Zips!

I also noted that Harney didn't even enter the game until somewhere around the 11 minute (and change) mark of the 1st half. I think KD will likely not wait that long to put him in the rest of the year.

All hinges on CK's Harney 20 Rule.

My favorite baseball player in my HS & College years was Dave Henderson. He had some nice years, and was on some good teams. But what I liked best about him was that he had the perspective that he played a game for a living. So he was out there having fun while doing it. Look at the grin on Harney's face in that image .. he has it almost all the time on the floor. It has to be a little deflating as a defender to have some dude grinning ear to ear as he blows by you for layup after layup. I'm liking this guy's court presence a lot.

Go Zips!

I noticed that more than once on Saturday. He was having fun. He would smile like Hines Ward after making a shot....well not that big of a smile. His smiles made me smile, and that's a good thing!

PS. Another factor I will be watching the rest of the season is GP1's KD Version 2.0.

Anybody seen the Honey Badger videos on YouTube? Someone needs to put together a Harney Badger video...

You wanna play defense and get all up in his face? Harney Badger don't care. He'll just blow right by you and kiss it off the glass. You only want to play him for 14 minutes? Harney Badger don't give a crap! He'll drop 21 on your @$$ before you can blink. Look at him. He doesn't even look like he's trying. But there's a Golden Flash trying to locate his jock strap while Harney Badger flies by with a huge grin on his face. Harney Badger's a beast!

difference in this one will be the amount of bodies we will be able to throw at Jones. Jarrod is a good player no doubting that but the fact we will be able to throw Zeke, Nik and Tree will make a difference on Tuesday night. I think the Harney Badger, Q and Co have a good offensive game and the Zips win this one. These arent road trips anymore, they are business trips. Final Score Akron 75 BSU 63

As I sit in the Charlotte airport, beneath the 25 foot high banner stating "Home of the Great GP1, " I will take a few minutes to clarify "The Harney 20 Rule."

Harney 20 was based upon what it takes for the Zips to beat a difficult team, on the road. If Nick Harney gets 20 minutes, the odds of a Zips loss to ANY solid mid-major team is almost zero. Since the Zips NEVER win at Buffalo, the Buffalo Harney 20 factor was the full 20. Anything less was futile.

The exact number of minutes Harney should/must receive MUST be a variable, changing with venue and strength-of-opponent, otherwise it's irrelevant. As previously stated, Harney could log 0 minutes against EMU or NIU, and the Zips would still win by 20+.

As far as the K.e.n.t. game is concerned, KD realized the mistake he was making, only playing Harney 5 minutes in the first half (a 10mpg pace). He upped his minutes to 8.5 in the second half, the exact pace recommended in the CK Harney 20 pre-game calculation of 17+ for an entire game, and the Zips quickly turned a 10 point deficit into a 12 point win.

Ball State Harney 20 Factor: 16+

Ball State has Jones and that's it. We have 9-11 players that can all contribute and have been contributing. No contest.

Zips 80

Ball State 58

Not entirely true. Randy Davis is one of the top PG's in the conference and averages better than 6 assists per game. Tyrae Robinson is a pretty nice 2 guard who can knock down the 3 at a decent clip. Jesse Berry is another pretty good guard who scores better than 10 per game. Ball State will try to go 9 deep right along with the Zips. Ball States biggest problem will be matching up with the size and length of the Zips. Outside of Jones they have very little size (6'7" sophomore Kenny Kamienicki and 6'6" Aaron Adeoye play a combined 28 minutes per night, everyone else is 6'4" or under).

Zips 72

Cardinals 64

You would not let anyone else on this forum get away with a BS statement like that.

So, in the spirit of CK The Enforcer, I formally call you out. :)
