The Hip Zip
Figured I'd get this started. I see this as a very dangerous game on the schedule. Sure , Akron has owned the Broncs but they played extremely well at K-ent on Saturday. Truth is, the Broncs should have won that game before losing in OT. W Mich has gone through the season with some significant injuries which have hurt their record. With guard Ward back, we had better bring our A game because when healthy, the Broncs are the best team in the west. I 'll say : Zips 76 Broncs
Dr Z
....in the west. That's all I need to read. Zips win, and cover for the 5th straight time!?!?
RowdyZip
Yep. Zips can't afford a "half game" in this one. It should be a good test against an average team on the road. And speaking if WMU @ K-ent, I think WMU wins in OT if Stainface doesn't foul out.
Zipmeister
I'll go with the Zips by 14.
Dr Z
I mistakenly wrote fifth straight earlier in the thread, when in fact, it would be the sixth.
burrdie
Guess I have to go with my prediction from last game, we win by 20 or more. We keep getting better and better and better. They now seem to know what playing as a team reaps them so it will continue to get better. GO ZIPS. I'll go with the Zips by 14.
RowdyZip
Early line is out...Akron (-3.5). I figured it'd be the 3-6 point range. Every indication is that it won't be similar to that...I think either Akron wins by double digits or loses a close one. Odds are more in favor of a blowout for the Zips, but I wouldn't be shocked if we laid an egg to the point we're unable to recover in the 2nd half. After forcing EMU to play into our hands, I'll go with and Akron blowout. Zips 78 WMU
johnnyzip84
I hope I'm way off, but I have a feeling WMU is going to try to rough up the Zips tomorrow and will have significant success courtesy of some typically uneven MAC officiating. This coupled with the FT woes will finally catch up with us. Zips 67 Broncs
Captain Kangaroo
The phone has not stopped ringing...the texts incessant...tweets...FaceBook...I am absolutely fed up with Ken Pomeroy and Jeff Sagarin hassling me over this week's "Harney20" calculation. I have half a mind to tell'em to go pound salt...but it just wouldn't be fair to all the others who have waited patiently for this week's number...should there even be a number. The answer is -- "Yes," there is a Harney20 value associated with the Western Michigan game. If Harney is a complete no-show, my CKalculator™ says the Zips will in fact lose in Kalamazoo. Nick's lacklustre performance Saturday night factored heavily into the WMU final value, as Harney20 is weighted towards most-recent performances. And the Zips showed Saturday that a disinterested, lethargic Harney performance can still yield a blow-out victory. Hence we see a lower-than-ever-previously-seen number. So without further adieu, I hearby announce the WMU Harney20 number is: >13. And note to ZN.o lurkers Pomeroy and Sagarin -- the CKalculator™ ain't for sale. At any price. plowerman78
another business trip for the Zips. Key of the game will be the pace, can they make it an up and down game especially when Mrs. Doubtfire Matt Stainbrook is in. Broncos keep it close at the half, but Q, Harney Badger (who i think will break out of his funk) and Tree and the rest of the bench bunch provide another K.O. run in the second half. Dave in Green
I predict the key to this game will be which team can score the most points.
Dr Z
I like the Zips -3.5 tonight. Likely parlay with K*nt -6.5 @ EMU. Possible 3 teamer with Kitties -7.5 @ Holy Toledo. Anybody (other than Zach), have an update on DJ's availability for the game tonight?
skip-zip
This was the West division game that scared me the most, particularly with it being a road game. We've finally shown that we can play relatively consistently from game to game, and we've finally shown that we can blow someone out. Can we show tonight that we've truly turned the corner, and are ready to make a big run to the finish? Akron 67 WMU
Blue & Gold
This was the West division game that scared me the most, particularly with it being a road game. +1. Western is tough, now healthy, and doesn't like us. A 5-hour bus trip. Wednesday night game. Our guys better be ready to bring it & throw down tonight. I want to see us get a killer instinct, a desire to annihilate the other team, not just coast on our natural athletic ability & turn it on just to win the game. Let's not just try to win this game, fellas. Let's embarrass Western in their own house.
tpsjugglerdude
It's been 4 years since they beat us and we have beaten them 6 times in that time span. 71-66 Zips get another road kill.
The Hip Zip
I'll go with the Zips by 14. That has been a popular number here lately. Hope that you are correct

Captain Kangaroo
I remember Fat Tub of Goo Stainbrook trying to kick a Zip in the shins last year (Zeke?). Man, did WMU prove themselves to be a bunch of sore losers in that game.

Dave in Green
Didn't Stainbrook flagrantly throw his big booty out and flatten Roberts for about 30 seconds while WMU was bringing the ball upcourt at the Q last season without drawing a foul? ZachTheZip
WMU is still a dirty team. Their game plan is to agitate their opponent into retaliating and thus being called for a foul.

Stainbrook, or Skidmark as I like to call him, has a quick triggered temper and has been T'd up a few times. Hawkins got to the point that he couldn't take it anymore and briefly suspended him. Sparks could fly tonight. He's hands down one of the five ugliest people to ever ball in the MAC, or anywhere else for that matter
