Dambrot says 'yes' to Duquesne this time

So next year we are TOTALLY screwed!

New coach, POY gone, no big time recruits on the horizon.

This harkens back to 1967 when Turner and Williams graduated and we had a team so horrible that the strategy was score one basket and try to stall the entire game (no shot clock in those days). It was not until Wyatt Web came in and re-built the team around Len Paul that we were good again.

2017-18 is going to be PAINFUL.

Especially if they have a protracted search.

Not to pile on the bad news but does anyone wonder what happens to the LBJ relationship now? He still has the initiative between the University and his foundation.

I think the initiative stays in place, but you won't see LBJ camps and other basketball related appearances and support like we have.

I'm surprised I'm not more upset than I am.  I love KD, but I was getting a little frustrated the last couple of years.  We had clearly plateaued & I really don't think KD could take us any farther than he did.  It had become same-old-same-old.

I was beginning to lose my fire for Zips basketball & was almost certain we weren't going to win the MAC-T.  I didn't even go to the final game; just watched on t.v. expecting K.e.nt to win.

Perhaps I'll regret saying this in a couple years, but honestly, I'm ready for a fresh start.

The most important thing this program can do is MAINTAIN AND FURTHER CULTIVATE THE LEBRON CONNECTION.

Why? Dambrot is a coach who has led the Zips through a spectacular era against all odds. I am rooting for his future success 110%.

He is no longer a Zip, and so I could not care less what happens to him career-wise from this point on. Just another random mid-major coach at another mediocre program. There's hundreds of them.

Very erudite. (Yeah, you'll need a dictionary).

I spent quite a bit of time at that university when my wife attended there. I hated it then and I hate it now. It was nothing but a bunch of prentious snobs that thought they were the Ivey league. Guess what? You aren't. You are closer to the mental facility down the hill than you are the Ivey leagues. Enjoy your 10 wins a season.

Against my earlier comment wishing KD well, I will say that from the player's tweets it seems that KD made no indication to his players that he was seriously considering the job. It is sleazy to run away without meeting with the young men that you directly influence. I absolutely hate when coaches do it. Hopefully he sits down with them all in the next couple of days.
