Akron v Tennessee

Bought my tickets today. Would've liked to have bought them from the University and sat with other Akron fans but I couldn't justify buying 2 tickets at $45 a pop when tickets are on StubHub for $6 (I bought some $7 ones in a better section). They're upper level but I honestly love watching games from that height, you can see the play develop and what coverages the D's are playing and what pressure schemes are being used. I'll pay $14 for that as opposed to an extra $76 just to sit with other Akron fans.

I'm not certain at what point something becomes felony fraud, but I have to believe passing this event off as a competitive college football game might.

I'm all for you guys going to a game and having a good time, but I hate it you are having your money stolen from you in the process. I might go to Knoxville, tailgate, look at the Volunteer Navy and go to a bar and watch other game. But then again, I'll probably just stay home and watch it on TV.

Have fun and be safe.

I went to the Zips/Vols game back in 1989. Carl Pickens had both offensive and defensive TDs and Chuck Webb had a couple hundred yards rushing. Derek Alston had over 100 yards rushing for the Zips. In-between the 30's we moved the ball fine all day...but that's where it stopped. Going off a fading memory, I think UA was up 9-7 at one point,, and lost 52-9.

Absolutely awesome place to watch a football game. Great game-day environment.

I hope I can attend in September, but the kid's fall sports schedule looks to be a conflict. :(

I was at the game as well. You are correct Captain, we were up 9-7. I remember thinking...I better take a picture of the scoreboard. I could hardly believe it. It is a great football atmosphere and stadium.

I got great seats for about $25. I don't consider that having my money stolen. I would blow more than that at a bar on any given Saturday afternoon if i wished to. I enjoy travelling to different stadiums and regions to watch college football games and i love tailgating. Why wouldn't I go support my school when I have always wanted to go watch a game at Tennessee?

+a billion

I'm definitely going, but am still debating the UA package versus putting something together myself. Attended a class in Knoxville around 2002 and told myself if I ever had another shot to see the Zips there (I missed the '89 game) I'd take advantage. I will thoroghly enjoy myself regardless of the outcome.

As one who grew up in Akron and now lives in East Tennessee, I'm really looking forward to this game. My family and I live an hour from Knoxville, and we usually go to one UT game a year. Guess which one we're going to this year? LOL

I hope that there are a lot of Zip fans who come down for the game. Neyland Stadium on a Saturday is a great atmosphere, and you will not regret the trip whatsoever if you are a college football fan. Between the Vol Walk, the Volunteer Navy, the checkerboard endzones, and the Pride of the Southland Band, it's one of the best experiences in all of college football. I think that you will see that those in Knoxville are very friendly hosts, and you will enjoy your time in Knoxville. I guess with my two favorite college football teams playing each other, I can't lose...
