NewZipsFan
Love his writing. All in all...a very good piece. Dennis Dodd - CBSSports.com column
MDZip
Nice article on Terry. If we had "lucked" into Paul Winters, there is no way the Zips would be getting this kind of publicity. As they say, sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. Also on the same CBS sports site Tom Fornelli has a good article on the MAC and he predicts the Zips will finish 5th in the East. I think that's the highest I've seen anyone publish yet.

Except that he's hoping that "QB Clayton Moore matures...."... It was written August 2nd. Clayton had been gone for 2-3 weeks at that point. Dr Z
For Clayton's sake, I personally still hope he matures....& grows three inches. For Jackson's fans sake. Dennis Dodd writing about the Zips...impressive. I wish I would have learned something, but I don't think ZN was the intended audience. Captain Kangaroo
"I don't know whether there was a morale problem or a talent problem. The statistics are so bad I've got to believe the kids are better than the record indicated." Great quote. If he needs a clue where to point a finger...I'd start by looking at the guy who kicked off twice in one game. Or maybe the guy who kicked a field goal to cut a 20 point deficit to a 17 point deficit late in the 3rd quarter. If not those two guys...then maybe the guy that went for two, down 20-6 with a full half of football remaining. Somewhere amongst those 3 guys is the reason the Zips statistics defied belief. GP1
"I don't know whether there was a morale problem or a talent problem. The statistics are so bad I've got to believe the kids are better than the record indicated." Or both with a third "philosophy problem" (pro style offense) thrown in for good measure. Losing so much had to create a morale problem. The philosophy problem created the losing. The Zips were two games better last year with a better coach and good morale; leading me to my final point. I still believe, at least for this year, there is a talent problem. 1-11 vs 3-9 are two separate levels of terrible. The Zips were so bad the last two years, there had to be a talent problem. The bad news is we had/have a talent problem. The good news is it doesn't take a ton of talent to win in the mac. The coaching will be there. Once the talent catches up to the coaching, this team could do extremely well in years to come.
Zipsrifle
I don't know if it is TB or just the ease in which you can post media on the internet, but there has been an explosion of coverage for Zips FB here in the past few weeks. I've had a hard time keeping up. I'm starting to get excited, but then again, it is preseason and the sky is the limit. This thought went through my mind the other night: 4th season at InfoCision and we're on our 3rd coach. I feel pretty good that TB will turn this thing around but given all the turnover, I feel I have no gauge as to how we may do this season. At this point, it seems to me that the offense is still going to be a struggle. Given the drastic change from last year, and how well we did last year, I guess this is to be expected. I feel good about having Chuck running the D and I think they will continue to be the stronger side of the ball. I have to say that having all this coaching experience on the field makes me feel that we can finally start building the program. Should be a fun season. I know people hate Cleveland-Akron comparisons. But Cleveland's main 3 sports franchises have had 17 different coaches combined since 1999. And that's not including interim coaches. Browns have had 6, Cavs 7, and Indians 4. Talk about stability in Northeast Ohio!
