PB1719
bowden has to go.let's get saban in here.i heard he would take the job if offered by UA.im sick of getting beat when we get outcoached every week .it's one thing to lose to a team with better talent, but we have the better talent than any of teams we have played so far.our two wins in two years with R.I. clearly proves this.bowden is the problem. get him out of here now!!!! That's great..
scottditzen
Wow, we've sure bottomed out since our moral victory vs. Tenn. Later ya'll, I'll be over on the Soccer side of the forum.

Dr Z
I wrote it after we played Tennessee...if I played the Zips, I would never pass the ball. We cannot stop the run effectively, we need to get better in the middle front of our D. When we do, you will see the wins start to come. Defense 101...stop the run. K92
keener . i did not know akron beat iowa.when was this? What an absurd statement. Just because Central got a fluke win over a shitty Iowa team does not make them good. To suggest Akron was simply beaten by a better team is making an excuse for failure to win a legitimately winnable game. I am tired of excuses. At some point the players on the team need to sack up and refuse to lose. I love the Zips as much as anyone, but I am not making excuses for them any more. The Chippewas are a bad football team. Opportunity missed.

skip-zip
Regardless of where we all hope we might be going (and I still have faith. I just think it's getting more and more long term), this loss has to be a big concern to just about anyone. We just lost badly to a fairly weak team. Even when we were beaten by a pretty bad Florida International team (Akron is their only win), we at least felt confident that our offense was on the way to recovery. It all comes down to one thing now: How effectively can you recruit under these kind of circumstances? As much as it makes me want to puke, I already know one other D-1A team in NE Ohio that's going to be able to recruit pretty darn well against us during this upcoming off season. RACER
cmu plays alott tougher schedule in the west.if they play the ou schedule there not 3-5.they also beat iowa on the road. you can say that cmu,or iowa have bad teams.the reality is they have alott more talent than we do.espn said we were the worst d-1 team last year.what did people expect.with the record we have had over the last five years it's a miracle that bowden can get anyone to come here. Can't will never be able to keep a coach.i would not be surprised if he's gone before Can't even goes to a bowl. Captain Kangaroo
How effectively can you recruit under these kind of circumstances? K.e.n.t. was worse than us 3 years ago. Now they're 8-1. Why is it so impossible for the Zips to recruit and improve?
Hilltopper
I'm hoping that we go all out for Juco players.
GP1
K.e.n.t. was worse than us 3 years ago. It's something we could debate, but remember how bad it was the last year of Faust and the first year of Owens? I'm starting to think I'm getting a lot of miles on me as a Zips fan. Zipmeister
I recall how pleased I was when Gordon Larson led the team to a 6-1 record in his first year as head coach; the year after Joe McMullin suffered through a 2-8 season. Let's bring back Gordon.
Captain Kangaroo
It's something we could debate, but remember how bad it was the last year of Faust and the first year of Owens? I'm starting to think I'm getting a lot of miles on me as a Zips fan. Me too. That's why you know it will get better. Faust got us 7 wins in a season. Owens took a 1-10 Faust team and eventually got to .500 Brookhart took Owens' team and won a MAC championship Ianello - took us back to the stone age Bowden - People need faith. He's WAY better qualified than Faust, Brookhart or Owens, and he'll eclipse the levels those guys reached. He just got dealt a shitty first hand. In track they stagger the start in order to make races like the 200m and 400m fair. In football, there's no such equalizer. You start from the back, and everyone else gets a big fat head start.
