Zips Win!
Home: Ball State, Toledo, Can't State, Ohio; Road: Northern Illinois, BGSU, Miami, UMass Extremely tough conference schedule. Here we go again. The MAC setting up NIU and UT with easy schedules...
LZIp
no EMU or Buffalo for a second straight year??
johnnyzip84
So we don’t get to play fellow strugglers Eastern or Buffalo, or Western (breaking in a new HC), or Central (loses Radcliff) Get on the horn, Dr P, and give someone hell about this. Is the MAC trying to give us an excuse to leave?
Dr Z
I'm not into watching EMU and UB. I like the schedule. Bring 'em on. We play better when we play good competition...think Tennessee last season. We aren't going to get better as a progrum playing EMU and UB. No cupcakes, we see enough of that on the basketball schedule.

I don't even want to make any predictions on the 2013 record at this point, but so much for being too hopeful about ANY of the matchups. johnnyzip84
No better way to break Kyle Pohl (if he wins the job) in. I think Pohl and the offense will do fine regardless of the schedule. It's the defense (and the sense of fair play) I'm mostly concerned about.
K92
Wow. That's a tough schedule. Add in tough road games to Michigan & UCF along with ULL & JMU in non-conference and it equals MEAT GRINDER. Only silver lining is UM & BGSU... ROAD TRIP! g-mann17
Home: Ball State, Toledo, Can't State, Ohio; Road: Northern Illinois, BGSU, Miami, UMass Extremely tough conference schedule. So remainder of the schedule is Home: James Madison; UL-Lafayette Away: Michigan; Central Florida So a solid FCS opponent and 3 bowl teams. In fact we only have two teams that didn't make a bowl on our schedule.

Zipmeister
Home: Ball State, Toledo, Can't State, Ohio; Road: Northern Illinois, BGSU, Miami, UMass Extremely tough conference schedule. I think 6 of those 8 teams have earned the right to a relatively easy conference schedule.

zipsfan33
But hey, if we can get past 2013 we have to play @Penn St. and Pitt! Glad to see it will be easier down the road!

If the program can't compete against the best MAC teams, get out. If it's whining to expect a relatively fair shake from your conference, I'm guilty as charged. I suppose it doesn't really make much difference, since substantial improvement is needed to get the program winning regardless of the schedule. Go Zips! zippy5
It's the MAC. We could play the best 8 teams or the worst, there won't be much of a difference. Win some games this year!

Do you think there is any correlation between the quality of a recruiting class and the team's win-loss record in the season prior?
Spin
I am looking at several results from the MAC's creative scheduling this season for a future piece. It's really pretty interesting once you start digging in...

Do you think there is any correlation between the quality of a recruiting class and the team's win-loss record in the season prior? Why do I feel like I'm being set up? Ill bite, yes. I think this is a pretty obvious though, right? But you think a win over emu or ub is really going to wow a potential recruit? On top of whatever minor benefit beating some of the worst teams in D1, I care more about my entertainment value. I want to beat teams that we are not expected to beat. I suppose you could argue player confidence...
