MontrealExposloveZippy
Miami is 8-12 (3-5, MAC) Miami (OH) STATS - ESPN Akron- STATS - ESPN Miami has lost 4 out of their last 5 games- No quality wins or competitive games against good teams The statistic that is glaring is their rebounding, or lack thereof... Miami=341st, Akron=49th We need to take Miami seriously like all MAC teams, but hopefully our post players can dominate on the boards and make this game lopsided from the get-go. Go Zips!! Big Zip
I really want to see the team show their killer instinct this weekend. Come out hard, get them down and then step on their throat.
akzipper
I really want to see the team show their killer instinct this weekend. Come out hard, get them down and then step on their throat. Exactly. Play like they did at the beginning and the end of the CMU. We just don't play a "complete" game very often. Seem to rely too much on a 10-20 point runs to get the team in position to win. I know KD hates to run up the score, but I think we need some big wins down the stretch... bigzipguy
Miami lost to the Rockets by 1 on a 3 pointer at the buzzer.
Zipmeister
No contest. The Red Hawks are one terrible team. It's a miracle they have three conference wins.

mes102
I feel this should be around -11 since it's in Oxford....
MDZip
Should be around 12 since it's an away game and Miami appears to be a bit better than CMU (who we had at home). All of the remaining away games (Miami, EMU. Buffalo, and of course OU) have me a little worried. The Zips have not played well on the road this year. I'm thinking we're picking up a loss in at least one of these (and it might not be OU).
johnnyzip84
It looks like the line is Zips -10. It's not that I'm not concerned about playing in Oxford, I just don't think Miami matches up too well with us. They're very small, especially in the starting lineup (although they've somehow managed to outrebound their last 3 foes). If Sullivan and crew get hot again from deep (like he did in the 1st half of last year's game at the JAR), the Sweaters have a puncher's chance. Of course, our various zone defenses should stifle that before it gets too far out of control. Of the road games MDZip mentioned (besides the obvious one in Athens), I'm mostly concerned with EMU. They have shown size and athleticism all season long, but their shooting skills have been horrific up until recently. The team that smoked U@B the other night on STO looked much more dangerous than the early season Hur-eagles. Riley has enough size to potentially bother our bigs, Bryant is a nice all-around talent, Harper and Sims are starting to provide some outside shooting and they're pretty deep as well. I think UA will be favored, but it'll take a GOOD game from the Zips to prevail in Ypsilanti IMHO. Let's go Zips!! Take care of business tomorrow and we'll see what happens the rest of the way. The only thing that concerns me with EMU is that they play a similar slow it down zone style to what we saw Central take us to the wire with on Tuesday. EMU arguably has more pieces in place to play it, so maybe they make it even closer than the Chips did, but I'm not sure. I think more of it will have to do with keeping guys (particularly Tree) out of foul trouble. As far as this game today, I'm not particularly concerned. I know I sound like a broken record sometimes, but this is yet another MAC team that doesn't have the horses to match up with us. They only go about 8 deep. They don't have a lot of size in their frontcourt or on the wing. They are really still built for the slow down, grind it out Charlie Coles style of play, and that just isn't going to work now that they have a coach who wants to push tempo more. They will get better as the years go by, but for now they are what they are. Maybe if Bill Edwards hadn't gotten hurt this would be a more interesting matchup, but right now it has all the looks of another double digit Akron victory. alexopats@yahoo.com
Just went onto ESPN3 online and it says the game is blacked out in my area (I live on Campus?), does anyone know of another stream?
akzipper
Dayton vs Temple game is going to end late...what else is new?! Worst officiated game I have ever seen. Practically tried to hand Dayton the win

Dave in Green
Each team has 5 steals and 6 turnovers in the first 8 minutes. Looks like another sloppy, grind it out game.

bUAkronG
Zips must have seen something in the tape because they are trying to go for the steal almost every time. Mia on an 11-1 run.
