LZIp
UCF taking it to Penn State. Like I said..best team on our schedule.
Dave in Green
How good is UCF? At halftime today they're beating #12 South Carolina, 10-0. An upset win today would likely move UCF into the top 25.
PB1719
It's no surprise to me, they have been playing lights out. Our SOS just keeps getting stronger.
Dave in Green
It turns out that South Carolina's starting QB left the game with an injury after the first drive, so their offense went sour. They've now roared back to score 21 unanswered points with their backup QB and lead UCF 21-10 early in the 4th quarter.
pdt1420
Didn't want to start a new topic for this one, but NIU is taking Purdue to the woodshed. You know what the difference is between the Big10 and the MAC? OSU.
Blue & Gold
South Carolina beats UCF by 3. 28-25.
Dave in Green
Close finish. But if the South Carolina starting QB doesn't miss the whole game, chances are UCF loses a little bigger. UCF probably belongs just outside the top 25 as they're currently ranked. UCF and NIU are probably pretty close in overall team strength. K92
UCF ends the Louisville hype tonight with a 38-35 come from behind victory. Maybe the Knights can start to get a little respect now. They are a damn solid football team.

UCFKnightDiver
Super excited with the season UCF is having, if we can win out we'll be in a BCS game. Also, went to my first Akron game this weekend and had a good time. It was fun watching the Zips play Ball State but was super cold, at least for this Floridian! One thing I noticed about Pohl is he takes too long to throw the football, even on short passes to the sidelines it seems like he waits for years. Anyway, I'm planning to go to the game next weekend to root on the Zips against Can't State, hopefully it's not as cold or windy!

He is really struggling with his reads and I think that is one reason why he is having accuracy issues. He typically throws the ball on target when he knows where he is going with it. Dillard is also worthless. He can't get off the line and the D can pretty much focus elsewhere when he is in.
K92
UCF throttles Rutgers tonight. (Yeah, the same Rutgers that Fresno fans count as a quality win. ) Is there any doubt UCF was the best team the Zips played this year? I think the Knights would win convincingly over NIU. Waddaya think?

At the time we were all very upset about the loss to the UCF Knights...now I don't thing it's that bad of a loss. Count me in. Taking into account their body of work, I rate our opponents as follows: 1) UCF 2) NIU 3) Ball St/BGSU/ULL/Michigan (4 way tie) 7) Toledo (projected) 8) OU/K.E.N.T. 10) JMU 11) UMass 12) Miami

Dr Z
UCF gets BCS bidAs long as we are in the MAC, I'll continue to say, I miss UCF and Marshall being in the MAC. UCF was the best team the Zips played this year. Storm Johnson is a load. I can see how some could argue NIU is better with Lynch, and you might be right, but I thought UCF was a better team. Would have been a better evaluation had we played them a little later in the year though. I would love to get them on future schedules. Good luck to them. Dr Z
From Peter King's MMQB. I know one team that, as of now, thinks it’s no sure thing Teddy Bridgewater will be the top quarterback on its board (and this is a team that could take a quarterback in the first round). Moreover, this team believes Central Florida’s Blake Bortles or Johnny Manziel could be the top quarterback on the board. That’s right. Blake Bortles. We don’t even know if Bortles, a redshirt junior, will return for his fifth season at UCF. He will reportedly make his decision after Central Florida’s Fiesta Bowl game against Baylor. Two guesses have the Browns drafting him at #7.
akzipper
Most mocks have Cleveland taking Bortles or Derek Carr at #7. Both would be awful and probably not even worth a high 1st round pick. So very typical Browns draft picks!

A more likely scenario would be for the Browns to trade the first round pick they obtained from Indy for someone like Kirk Cousins and use their own pick on a DB or running back. I, for one, have wondered for a while now why Bortles was not receiving much attention for the 2014 draft, even though he is a junior. Your comments only reinforce my previous puzzlement I think he's the type of college player who is partially encumbered by an overly conservative head coach. I envision him reaching his full potential as a pro.
akzipper
I'm just sick and tired of watching awful Browns QB's year after year. I don't have much faith they will ever find a good one, but I can at least get excited about guys like Manziel and Bridgewater. They are exciting to watch and have big-play ability. More than can be said about Bortles and Carr.

Dr Z
Browns fans shouldn't worry about mock drafts because mocks are never correct. In the same link I provided, Peter King suggested the Browns trade the Indy first rounder for Kurt Cousins, because he is the type of drop back passer the Norv likes. Crazy like a fox. For those that like that kind of stuff, Brent Dustburger suggested googling, Bortles' girlfriend Lindsey Duke.
