Lee Adams
Try BGSU and Tulsa. Actually a decent game. Better than the Keystone Cops.

GP1
The bad news is there is a big talent disparity between UofA and UCF. The good news is, UofA looks a lot like the rest of the MAC teams playing tonight. UofA can win some games in the MAC. I'll say it again....Football is a lot about confidence and momentum. The Zips let UCF score right away and all confidence was removed. The offense doesn't move the ball and there was no confidence. I don't believe the team is going to be this bad all year, but they sure did start off on the wrong foot tonight. My biggest complaint is we have zero points. It's 2013 for crying out loud. The rules are set up for teams to score by accident and we can't even get a field goal yet?
Buckzip
If we look this bad with all of these senior transfers playing, I fear what is behind them.
K92
Another reason to lead off with a I-AA school... Absolutely. Best comment of the night. These game one beatdowns have proven to be disastrous. Totally kills all the pre-season excitement. It would be great not to feel this frustrated this quickly. Dave in Green
This is an extremely painful, brutal beatdown. I opened the checking account to upgrade to club seating this season in anticipation of Coach Bowden's magic starting to work. As much as tonight hurts, I'm not giving up easily. GP1
If we look this bad with all of these senior transfers playing, I fear what is behind them. I'm more concerned about how long it will take them to gel. 1-2-3-9-10 games? Who knows? The bottom line is this. UCF has access to better talent and they play in a much better conference than the MAC. Also, UCF has an excellent coach who won a GA Tech which is a difficult place to win. Therefore, they have a much better team across the board. It shouldn't be unexpected we took/are taking this type of a beat down. The talent will become more equal in the MAC. The team needs to come together quickly though or it could snowball out of control.

And might give them a scare in DeKalb. This is not a bad program we got beat by tonight. They got it together. I still think we win 3. MontrealExposloveZippy
Terrible play calling tonight- Let Pohl throw the ball. I thought our defense was fine. We lost by 42 last year to them only 31 this year!!

I really believe an NIU, UT, BG, or Ohio could've competed all 4 quarters with UCF. I don't know if Akron wins 3 games this year but your rebuilding process will take awhile. I wish you guys the best of luck and I hope Bowden was the right hire. If not, perhaps Tressel can take over in a few years...

Too conservative; reminded me of Tressel ball. Pohl has an arm, let him use it.

ZippyFan
I'm very disappointed. I think TB conceded this loss. What happened to this newly bolster Def line? What happened to Pohls arm? We never went downfield. It looked like we weren't even trying to score. It looked like he was protecting Pohl. I expected a lot more. I hate to say it but it's time to give some other receivers a try. This offense is designed around short passes that the WR's do something with. Our's dont do anything with it once they catch it. If we're gonna throw short passes all night we need to find some bangers to throw to. Guys that will catch the ball and pound someone. We dont have that now. We are counting on the same guys that didnt get it done last year. The freshmen looked decent but they did it against UCF's backups and didnt do anything after they caught the ball. WOW! this sucked. I didnt excpect to with but I thought we would show better than thei

I don't know if I would even call them a mid, looking at their enrollment. Now Can't squeaking past Liberty, that's a different story.

But they weren't giving him a lot of pressure that I saw. My XBox Live/ESPN3 was a gong show but what I did see, he had time.
PB1719
I can't believe all of the whining on this forum. GP1 is right, there is a huge talent disparity between these teams. UCF will be a top 25 team, if not a top 15 by the end of the year. Good news, we didn't sustain any major injuries to my knowledge. Our secondary needs to step it up, and we need to run block better. Everything else looked pretty good, especially the pass rush (which was nonexistent last year). I do see improvement. Also, we were 1-1 on extra points!!!
