If we truly "have momentum" and plan to "keep it rolling", this needs to be a convincing win.
Being an eight point underdog, I think the majority of Zip fans would be ecstatic walking out of Infocision with a one point victory. I'm guessing the team and staff would be too.

Note: I made a mistake. I edited in some more stats to my first post after I started this thread. I think the edit somehow cleared the vote back to zeros. I think the vote was 13-3 in favor of the Zips when it cleared. So for a more accurate vote, add those numbers in (your head). Sorry.

I'll add my prediction. The one thing the Zips struggled with last week was containing Gardner, he hurt them with his feet. I have never seen Terrance Broadway (Cajun QB) play before, but looking at the stats, he has 31 carries this season. The Zips need to pay closer attention to creating big gaps in the middle of the field when rushing the QB on passing downs. If they are able to do this, and continue the excellent offensive play calling I witness in the Big House, I feel we will be in for an entertaining day. I think this one comes down to a last possession type of game. Zips carry some momentum from the success (other than the scoreboard) they had last Saturday, and pull off a big upset 31-28.

That's a big concern for me heading into this game. I've seen Broadway in a few TV games, especially this one, and he does everything at a fast pace. I don't think we can simply key on his running, but we'll have to slow their running game down some to have a shot.

I'm going with a shootout, thinking KP16 and the WRs can pick up where they left off last week.

On defense our weaknesses seem to be containing the mobile QB when his receivers are well covered and then giving up the big play on moderately deep crossing routes. Zips seem pretty strong on run defense and good, maybe not great, on pass defense on the edges.

I just hope the offense finally 'clicked' last week and is now confident and in 'go' mode.

I see a good game that can go either way but I fear experience may be the deciding factor and the Cajuns have been successful in more close games the last few years than the Zips. Plus, it has had to be difficult for the team to look ahead instead of looking back this week. At least this team should be more confident than ever before now.

I'll go with Louisiana 37 Akron 31 .... but I could be and hope to be wrong.

That was a great game, but I don't believe that you will see that kind of running by Broadway in this one. The fact is, he doesn't have to do that anymore. The backfield that he has this year has taken a lot of the pressure off of him. The backfield is pretty sick and he does not need to take those risks. I watched some video of Akron and the D-Line looked strong, but the speed of the Cajun backfield and our slot receiver when they have a little space will probably lead to a Cajun advantage. Broadway can't hold the ball long with those defensive ends and he probably won't. He will get it to the stable of fast backs and they will show you what they can do.

The thing about the Cajuns is that there are enough playmakers to come with a completely different offensive game plan than what we had last week and you will likely see this Saturday. Don't let the Arkansas game fool you, this is a very good offense. Only question is if we can stop you guys from scoring. Should be a good game.

I'll go UL 35 Akron 27

Last year the Zips went on the road and played Tennessee tough for 3 quarters, came home and lost a shootout to Miami 56-49.

This year the Zips went on the road and played Michigan tough for 4 quarters & are going to win a shootout with Louisiana 56-49.
