Reggie Rogers transferred from Massillon to Firestone in high school and was committed to Marshall. He was kicked off the team before his freshman year at Marshall and it sounds like he landed here, which I guessed would happen. I've heard from people at Firestone that he had some issues that hurt him at Marshall, so maybe that's what's keeping him off the radar here.

A similar situation was Kevin Gladdney (WR), also from Firestone. Teammate of Jerome Lane there. He didn't play much as a freshman at Nebraska, but seemed to be fairly highly-regarded for the future, and was kicked off the team as a sophomore before coming to Akron. I've heard from Firestone people that Kevin is a real stand-up guy and they were all surprised to hear about what happened at Nebraska, so I'm expecting good things from him.

Both seemed to be pretty well regarded players coming out of HS. Hopefully both hometown guys will end up contributing similar to the likes of Lane, Grice, Pittman, etc. I'm pretty excited for this Gladney. How many years of eligibility will he have left??

Unless he received some sort of exemption, I think Kevin Gladney will have 2 years of eligibility left at Akron and will be a Junior this year. He redshirted at Nebraska in 2013, was a redshirt freshman there in 2014, and transferred to Akron and sat out in 2015 thus losing a year of eligibility.

On a different note, will DT/DE Anthony Clark, who played at Hocking College in Nelsonville in 2015, return to Akron this year?

NLOID is early next month. Quiet period ends on the 15th. We should hear things after that.

Things will start heating up in 2 weeks.

But JUCO early signing day is now ............ I really expected to sign a couple of O-Lineman

Quiet period only means that the Coaches cannot meet with the student athlete at the high schools .............. Official/Unofficial visits, calls, texts, emails and all communication are all legal and I hope the hell the staff is working the phones.

Hoping that the Bowl Buzz is still strong as a recruiting tool. I know that the staff is very quiet about offers, commits and all general recruiting news. They don't pay much attention and don't give any time to the recruiting site rhetoric and "star" hype

But the social media buzz seems very low regarding offers, commits and visits that the athlete posts.

Guess we will see soon

Word around the house is that he is a baller !! 6-1 and 190 .......... 4.6 ish 40. Hope he fits right in

I really hope that Cooper, Coney, and others can continue to develop underneath. I think that is where we need to step up the offense. We have decent size at out wide (couple at 6-2/6-3) and need to develop the quick slot guys !!!

That is because he played DT/DE at Hocking College in 2015 as I previously mentioned. According to Clark's twitter he recently signed to play with Akron again. He will be needed with the loss of Coe and Grice.

Actually upon further inspection that was an old twitter account of his, so I do not know if he will rejoin the team.

I think you're right, if I remember the story correctly.

It used to be a Tech School that was notorious for people wanting to study Forestry. Now, with it's first football team, it got some publicity for having a QB who was part of that trouble at Steubenville a few years ago.
