Kids commit to the coaching staff that they will spend a lot of time working with. .they form relationships during the recruiting process. ...that staff is now no longer there..those relationships are gone...perhaps the position coach at Toledo was the biggest reason he committed in the 1st place? I dont have a problem with a kid de-committing under these circumstances

He's one hell of an athlete but this kind of behavior would turn me away. You're supposed to commit to a program for more than the damn head coach.

I hear you, but the next coach might not be too committed to him or might not be the type of guy be wants to play for 4 years. If he changes his mind after he gets there he has to sit out and they might not allow him to go to a school close to home.

Nearly the entire staff is still there

I think we all have that thought that he might consider coming here. If it was an issue of not playing, that's maybe a remote chance. But, this appears to be something else entirely. He was clearly going to be their starter.

But, I will still dream of disgruntled SEC players filtering down to Akron. Especially after we add a Potato Bowl victory to our resume.

Honest question as I am also trying to figure out the deal at A&M ... De-commits, transfers ETC

But why would everyone think that he would consider coming to Akron ? Is there some kind of connection that would make it any more than wishful thinking ?

If by "everyone" you mean one person, I'm on-board with you.

I agree that associating every random D1 transfer with the Zips in this thread will probably make the thread a waste.

There is no reason why anyone would think he would consider coming to Akron. Pure pipe dream. He's probably destined for another big time P5 program, tbh.

There's also the possibility of an indirect transfer. If he goes to another P5 program then some other P5 prospect loses playing time and may decide to transfer to the MAC...

Something weird is going on at A&M. Rarely do both the starting QB and backup QB transfer at the same time.

Very odd.

I understand the backup especially seeing that he used to be the starter.

Seems like it's all coming unraveled
