Z.I.P. Posted December 21, 2015 Report Posted December 21, 2015 I think this game has proved that they are no pushover. And don't forget they've played one of the 15 hardest schedules in the nation. They were #3 SOS. Quote
ace Posted December 21, 2015 Report Posted December 21, 2015 They were #3 SOS.The one I was looking at on Kenpom had them #12 non-conference SOS Quote
ZachTheZip Posted December 21, 2015 Report Posted December 21, 2015 Time to wrap this one up. Iona will provide a tough challenge. Quote

phil Posted December 21, 2015 Report Posted December 21, 2015 We are using our 2 big men to our advantage. They stopped double teaming our big men in the paint and Pat and Big Dog are doing the job down under. KD did a good job coaching with taking what the Gouchos were giving us. Jimond and Aron Jackson did not look good in the first half and never got back into the game. KD seems has a nice guard rotation using Robotham, Josh, and Antino. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted December 21, 2015 Report Posted December 21, 2015 84-70 final. Zips win. Need to tighten some things up, but some of that was probably just shaking off the rust of a 10-day break. Quote

skip-zip Posted December 21, 2015 Report Posted December 21, 2015 The only real noticeable thing I took out of this game was how much UCSB's players got to the hoop. I'm sure Keith won't be happy with giving up 70 points and so many layups to a team like that. Quote
The Hip Zip Posted December 21, 2015 Report Posted December 21, 2015 I thought that offensively speaking this was our best performance of the season. Shot it well behind the arc and worked it inside well to boot, Big Dog was simply a beast today. I am very pleased with this effort as UCSB is not a poor team at all. Quote
LoyalZIP Posted December 21, 2015 Report Posted December 21, 2015 Sounded like there were a bunch of Zips fans there. I don't know if it was mostly Noah's friends and family, but either way it sounded like it would have been a lot of fun to be there this afternoon. Quote
Hilltopper Posted December 21, 2015 Report Posted December 21, 2015 The crowd was mainly fans from the Akron area. Quote

Other than that, I think the MAC has it over that league in all other areas, though they have a few good centers -- like UC-Irvine's 7-5 center! Quote

Hilltopper Posted December 21, 2015 Report Posted December 21, 2015 You there, 'topper? Was the crowd over 200? There were at least 200 Akron fans. Probably 100 for UCSB. 1 Quote
Z.I.P. Posted December 22, 2015 Report Posted December 22, 2015 One thing I notice is that we get a day off between games, while the other two teams have to play back-to-back games. Good work Keith and the DO. Quote
ogzips Posted December 22, 2015 Report Posted December 22, 2015 I am in vegas and the ZIPS was well represented in this arena for the few fans that where there Jimond had friends and family here and also Noah hade friends and family here. My complaint is that the heat in this arena was extremely hot, also they had the Clydesdale horses in a stable here in the arena that may be the reason for the heat. I over heard that several players got sick and dehydrated from the heat inside this place. I think they could have did better with the venue! Quote

Z.I.P. Posted December 22, 2015 Report Posted December 22, 2015 Did anyone else notice that #10 for UCSB, Maxwell Kupchak is the son of Mitch Kupchak. Quote
skip-zip Posted December 22, 2015 Report Posted December 22, 2015 :)Is the heat in the arena any worse than it is in the JAR? Even in the middle of winter, I find relief going back out into the cold after one of our home basketball games. Quote
morris buttermaker Posted December 22, 2015 Report Posted December 22, 2015 Wonder how many Robothams and friends in the house. The box score said total attendance was 250....wow ... Just wow. Quote
