clarkwgriswold Posted January 2, 2016 Report Posted January 2, 2016 The Big Daddies of Lipscomb (actually the Bisons) visit the JAR on Saturday, January 2nd. They are from the Atlantic Sun Conference and are 144th in the country in points scored per game (75.6 ppg), 310th in points allowed per game (78.9 ppg), 231st in field goal percentage (.428) and 251st in field goal percentage allowed (.445). Decent size with a 7'-2", 6'-10", two 6'-9'' and a 6'-8". A 6 foot guard named Hampton is their leading scorer averaging 15.3 ppg.Should be a real barnburner at the JAR (yawn) Quote
phil Posted January 2, 2016 Report Posted January 2, 2016 Great summary, so in other words they cannot shoot and cannot defend but they are big. However, it always bothers me when we are playing a school I never heard of and I have no idea where they are located. For those that are similarly challenged Lipscomb is in Nashville Tenn. (great town) and have a record of 4 wins and 10 losses. If you go to their basketball website even their spectators do not look very happy watching them play. Quote
skip-zip Posted January 2, 2016 Report Posted January 2, 2016 I'm just glad that this is the final act at the end of the Cupcake Parade. Quote

All four of their fans look like they are at the game as a condition of their probation. 1 Quote
kreed5120 Posted January 2, 2016 Report Posted January 2, 2016 I was going to make a snarky comment, but I see 3 MAC teams today are playing non-division 1 schools so I suppose it could be worse. Quote
LoyalZIP Posted January 2, 2016 Report Posted January 2, 2016 There are only a handful of MAC teams that don't play multiple non D 1 opponents Quote
ZachTheZip Posted January 2, 2016 Report Posted January 2, 2016 We're sitting at an RPI of 96 before the game. Let's see where we land. Quote
The Hip Zip Posted January 2, 2016 Report Posted January 2, 2016 Expecting this one to be fun to watch. Lipscomb gets scored on more than a fifty cent hooker. Quote

Z.I.P. Posted January 3, 2016 Report Posted January 3, 2016 40 minutes past start time, and gametracker still shows 0-0. Power outage? Women's game go late? What's happening?? Quote
Zipgrad01 Posted January 3, 2016 Report Posted January 3, 2016 (edited) 22-22 with 8 minutes left in the first half. We must be fat and slow from all the cupcakes. Edited January 3, 2016 by Zipgrad01 Quote

breezy123 Posted January 3, 2016 Report Posted January 3, 2016 The defense looks strong and Ivey is doing so well Quote
breezy123 Posted January 3, 2016 Report Posted January 3, 2016 Jimond Ivey = Ronnie Steward, Humpty Hitchens, Dakotah Euton and Josh Egner. Kwan Cheatam = Chris McKnight Quote
kreed5120 Posted January 3, 2016 Report Posted January 3, 2016 Finally, the Zips are creating some separation. Quote
zipsrule Posted January 3, 2016 Report Posted January 3, 2016 I think the Zips started eating too fast and started to choke on the cupcake in front of them. Only allowing 29 points at half is good, but too many easy layups for Lipscomb. Akron can only hit layups and 3s. Need to find some midrange shots. Quote
kreed5120 Posted January 3, 2016 Report Posted January 3, 2016 Akron started to feed Big Dog down low at the end of the 1st half. Hopefully they start the second half with the same mentality. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted January 3, 2016 Report Posted January 3, 2016 Missing Kretzer and Forsythe is really hurting. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted January 3, 2016 Report Posted January 3, 2016 Really bad shooting night, but it looks like Lipscomb is getting into foul trouble. Quote
zipsrule Posted January 3, 2016 Report Posted January 3, 2016 Zips hitting some big shots down the stretch. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted January 3, 2016 Report Posted January 3, 2016 How long until Forsythe comes back? Quote
LoyalZIP Posted January 3, 2016 Report Posted January 3, 2016 I didn't see the whole thing but it sounded like this may have been Ivey's best game. Quote
LoyalZIP Posted January 3, 2016 Report Posted January 3, 2016 How long until Forsythe comes back? It's probably precautionary from the ankle sprain during practice in Vegas Quote
