Maybe this is a good time to review our REAL tournament chances again?  Since we are now sitting at 17-4 at the end of January?

I still think we are IN, no matter what, with only 3 conference losses.  So, we can only drop 1 more.  That would be 5 losses in the regular season, and a record of 26-5 in the regular season, which might even have us at, or near, the Top 25 in both polls.  That should do it.

Now, we just have to win the games, and only stumble once more !!

If we win the MAC tournament, we're in anyway. So the only time we could stumble would be in the conference semis or championship game under your scenario, otherwise we would lose at least twice.

I think I want some of the stuff you're smoking. This team isn't getting an at-large.

This team is ridiculously similar to the 26-7 team that got crapped on by the NIT after the Penno loss. I don't see at large happening unless they win the remainder and lose a tight one in the tournament final. I see no way this team wins out, though things have looked more cohesive of late. A gaudy record, top 25 rpi, and likely position in the national polls would be impossible to ignore.

But it doesn't matter, because it won't happen.

These two points are exactly why I am somewhat hopeful.

We're at #67 RPI right now, without the Ball State win included, and without the potential additional 9 to 10 wins that might still be on the table.  That puts us in quite a bit better situation than we had with the 2007 team.

I scoffed at a few people for talking about "if we win out" back in early January.  It wasn't going to happen.  But now, with only 10 games to go, and the final 3 all at home, our chances of closing impressively aren't so remote.

While we all maybe want Cant state to lose , its unfortunate they lost Xavier Pollard . X-rays have confirmed the senior guard suffered a fracture in his foot during fridays game.  Freshman guard Jaylin Walker also injured a foot during that game at Ohio U. Lets hope the zips can come away with a win and/or at least stay injury free tuesday night in that same building. Pollard was averaging 13 pts a game and leading the flushes in assists with his specialty being slashing to the basket- not our strength on defense.

Knowing what we've dealt with the last couple years, I do feel bad for them. Even though they've had an easy conference schedule to start, I do think they've moved back into the top of the conference this year, which is great for the rivalry.

Yeah, I agree with skip-zip on bracketology. I like to follow it more for seeding purposes. There won't be any discretion in picking the MAC team that makes the tournament. Either you win the MAC tournament and you're in or you lose and are forced to settle for a lesser tournament. Now if MAC teams, in particular Akron, began entering the conversation as an at-large team, I would be more interested.

That sucks.

Good K.e.n.t + good Akron = great basketball.
