tpsjugglerdude Posted April 8, 2016 Report Posted April 8, 2016 Nice to see him finally take a head coaching gig. He has a great foundation at Stony Brook to build off of. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted April 8, 2016 Report Posted April 8, 2016 Good situation at Stony Brook. They're investing heavily into athletics right now. Build a winner on Long Island and he'll be picked up by a major program in a heartbeat. Quote
Captain Kangaroo Posted April 8, 2016 Report Posted April 8, 2016 Quote He should be able to work those connections to help establish a pipeline from the Buckeye state and surrounding areas to Long Island. Because the New York/Philly area doesn't have a whole lot of basketball talent? Seriously - Congrats to Jeff. He was always a class act during his UA tenure, and very helpful to the content of ZipsNation. Good to see good things happen to good people. 2 Quote
clarkwgriswold Posted April 9, 2016 Report Posted April 9, 2016 Good for Boals. Too often, jobs come open due to a failure by the prior staff, but just the opposite is true here. Hope he can build on the foundation of his predecessor. Quote
clarkwgriswold Posted April 11, 2016 Report Posted April 11, 2016 Dear Coach Boals- Welcome to Stony Brook- http://nypost.com/2016/04/11/stony-brook-basketball-player-accused-of-breaking-into-car-stealing-5k-tax-return/ Aaaaaaah, the joys of being a college coach. 1 Quote
skip-zip Posted April 12, 2016 Report Posted April 12, 2016 I hadn't taken a chance to comment on this. Congrats to Jeff. I was starting to think that he might have gotten himself stuck in a declining situation for too long. The recent news down there might have been his final cue to get out while he could. And I'm pleased to see that he got something better than a "rehab" job. I wish him the best. Quote
MDZip Posted April 15, 2016 Report Posted April 15, 2016 Once at a soccer game I happened to sit next to coach Boals who didn't know me at all but struck up a conversation anyway. Couldn't have been a nicer or more engaging personality. Happy for him but also happy he didn't end up in the MAC so that I won't have to root against him. :-) 1 Quote
