Good situation at Stony Brook. They're investing heavily into athletics right now. Build a winner on Long Island and he'll be picked up by a major program in a heartbeat.

Seriously - Congrats to Jeff. He was always a class act during his UA tenure, and very helpful to the content of ZipsNation. Good to see good things happen to good people.

Good for Boals.  Too often, jobs come open due to a failure by the prior staff, but just the opposite is true here.  Hope he can build on the foundation of his predecessor.

I hadn't taken a chance to comment on this.

 

Congrats to Jeff.  I was starting to think that he might have gotten himself stuck in a declining situation for too long.  The recent news down there might have been his final cue to get out while he could.  And I'm pleased to see that he got something better than a "rehab" job.  I wish him the best.

Once at a soccer game I happened to sit next to coach Boals who didn't know me at all but struck up a conversation anyway. Couldn't have been a nicer or more engaging personality. Happy for him but also happy he didn't end up in the MAC so that I won't have to root against him. :-)
