InTheZone
Fun little topic for the doldrums of late spring/summer when there's not much to talk about football-wise. Who do you think was the hardest hitting Zips football player of all time? I'm experientially biased, but I have to go with Diontre Earl, otherwise known as "Bullet". if there was any guy I did not want to lock horns with in practice, it was that sawed off little dude. He gave me snot bubbles on more than a few occasions, and I saw him absolutely decapitate a few opposing players in games. Any others?
Hilltopper
Steve Cockerham. I believe he is still the leading tackler in UA history.
skip-zip
I thought of a lot of candidates, but one clearly stands out. John Clark

He ran through, not at people. Edited May 25, 2016 by KentZip Completion
ZippyRulz
I'm trying to think of an offensive player who could lay a nasty block. Who would that be? Edited June 4, 2016 by ZippyRulz

Captain Kangaroo
Although a fullback, Rache Culler was the hardest-hitting Zip I can recall. I remember him flattening Penn State's Courtney Brown...knocked the skills clean out of his body. Too bad the Browns didn't realize that before they drafted him. K92
In recent years, the two hardest hits have go to Conor Hundley on the Miami LB and to Shawn Lemon on the blindside of the Kent QB.

I'd go with Steve Cockerham too. But for one play I'd say Dave Pruner. When he tackled the kick returner 3 yards out of bounds in the middle of the Temple bench and the brawl broke out, it was classic!
Section210Zip
Victor Green was voted the hardest hitting player by his peers in the NFL in the 90's. I remember seeing a thing about this on NFL Films, where they were talking to a couple of running backs and one said once I got through the front 7 and especially the LB I didn't expect to get popped but there I was looking out my ear hole.

Vic Green is certainly the Most Overlooked Zip considering his pro career. I'd place him at #2 all time behind Taylor, but since he played in the Faust-era you rarely hear his name mentioned.
