Captain Kangaroo Posted September 6, 2016 Report Posted September 6, 2016 BGSU's loss - really embarrassing. Buffalo's loss - Predictable. How many times does someone hire Rob Ianello and absolutely B-L-O-W? Look at the guy's track record at Notre Dame, Akron, Kansas...and you still hire him. You reap what you sew. NIU - I only watched the first half of this one, but it looked like a big time homer job to me. I saw a couple phantom pass interference calls. Laramie looks like a bad place to play a road game. OU - Hung really well with the Longhorns. Impressive. Wait...strike that comment. WMU - Got oh-so-lucky that the 2016 bonehead play of the season was nullified because the WMU player stepped out of bounds, EMU - Hey...a win's a win. Can't be picky. Ball State - ditto. K.e.n.t. - still sucks. Toledo - Looking like the West favorite? Nice road win. CMU and Akron - Not much to draw from those games. Like EMU - a win's a win. Quote

Balsy Posted September 9, 2016 Author Report Posted September 9, 2016 Week 2 games have been added. I'll update them Saturday after our game. Lots of FCS opponents for the MAC this week, so the East shouldn't fair as bad as it did last week. Quote
jupitertoo Posted September 9, 2016 Report Posted September 9, 2016 I would argue that Ohio's loss was more embarrassing than BGSU's. I know most Ohio fans feel that way. They had to work very, very hard to lose that game. Quote

I didn't watch the game, so maybe I am off base, but I was surprised at how many people picked OU to finish ahead of Akron even after Sprague had left the team. TX state is pretty bad. Quote

It's tough to ever pick OU to suck at the beginning of a season. Quote

LZIp Posted September 11, 2016 Report Posted September 11, 2016 (edited) That CMU ending was crazy! I agree with Zach, that rule needs fixed. I think the MAC went 2-0 vs the Big 12 yesterday. I saw that Northwestern lost to Illinois State, so that makes that WMU win look not as good. Edit; Its 9:11am on 9/11 and Kent State still sucks! Edited September 11, 2016 by LZIp Quote

Balsy Posted September 12, 2016 Author Report Posted September 12, 2016 Updated for Saturday's contests. The East is far behind the West. MAC West seems like it's going to come down to Toledo vs. W. Michigan in the last game of the season to determine who's going to Detroit. MAC East is wide open for the Zips to take IMHO. It's difficult to say what Akron and BGSU are at this point, losing big to top 10 teams. It's also difficult to know what Ohio is either. Beating Kansas isn't huge, they finished last season in Miami (Oh) fashion, 0-12. The last two OOC games should paint a better picture for which of those three teams should be favored to go to Detroit. Quote
LZIp Posted September 12, 2016 Report Posted September 12, 2016 oh jesus H. The FCS team was on their 3RD STRING QB and Kent still lost?! LOL Quote
UAZippers Posted September 12, 2016 Report Posted September 12, 2016 (edited) I can't believe that the other members of the MAC East have 3 FCS losses and a 1 point FCS win on a missed 2-point conversion at the end of the game. Nobody is 2-0. We will never have a weaker division. Edited September 12, 2016 by UAZippers Quote
