“Other schools to show interest are Clemson, Northern Kentucky, Pitt, Ohio State, Ohio University, Belmont, and Dayton and Xavier are both really after me lately,” said Swingle, who mentioned one school he’s particularly high on right now.

“Akron has been down to a bunch of my open gyms and have been after me pretty hard, and I’m liking them a lot.”

This kid is the Real Deal!  Same town that Jake the Snake Kretzer hails from, Bainbridge, OH (different HS -- can you believe Bainbridge has more than one HS?)

Looks like some pretty stiff competition that we're recruiting against. Would be a great land.

This kid looks like a real high ceiling prospect, and Im hoping Jake and our early interest can sway him. But looking at rivals, scout, chillicothe paper, the consensus is hes going to WVU.  Hes quoted as saying hell fit in well- they( WV)  run the same offense as his HS and Huggins and his HS coach are friends, plus it never mentions Akron except that we had mild interest.

Coach Weigand has been very much on top of the Big Cat recruiting program this summer.  Not sure, but I imagine Big Cat is the #1 priority for 2018.  It appears that Dylan's HS coach likes our coaching staff, and is close to them.  Dylan's said he is very open to a mid-major, and does not automatically give the priority to the "bigger" program.  That said, the recruiting sites seem to place us as #2 to WVa in pursuit of the Cat.

I'm Dylan's HS coach. Jake and Dylan both live near Bainbridge but Jake attended Waverly HS. There's only one HS in Bainbridge. We're located 60-miles south of Columbus. There's another Bainbridge in northern Ohio.

According to the ranking history on 247sports.com he is falling down the recruiting ladder.  Not sure why.  Has anyone seen him or his stats from this past season?  Perhaps Huggins & Co will lose interest -- they have so many horses!

Edit:  Well Twitter account shows he was 1st Team All-Ohio and District POY.  We need this big guy!!

Well, possibly surprised that he isn't Morgantown-bound!  Wonder if Huggy's offer stood?  Would like to think we could have gotten him, now just have to imagine we were #2.

Dylan "Big Cat" Swingle is transferring from Duquesne to Bowling Green.  Wow!  I wonder, since he was offered by a previous staff, if he had contact with coach Groce.  Damn, could we have used that cat!
