InTheZone
I'm not buying into the hype on the Flushes. They're still a second rate program with a second-rate coach and fifth rate fans. They're talent level hasn't really increased since that drubbing we gave them last year, and the Zips are clicking at the right time. In my opinion, this one is going to be a fun day for the Zips at Rubber Bowl East, especially since so many Can't fans have gotten it into their heads that they actually have a chance to beat us.Zips rollAkron 38Can't

You are giving Akron FAR too much credit ...36 - 7 AkronWe miss all six extra points, not just the four you accounted for.
Captain Kangaroo
K.e.n.t.'s kicker is as bad as ours, so the special team's play this week is a wash. You don't go on the road and beat NC State, then go to K.e.n.t. and lose.K.e.n.t.'s QB is terrible. He'll throw 5 INT's this week. Jarvis will get nowhere.Dennis Kennedy has 150 yards and 3 TD's by halftime.Somehow we'll have a punt snapped over someone's head and lose a couple points, but this game is a big wake up call for K.e.n.t.. They won't have 100 yards of total offense in the first 3 quarters combined.Zips 42Can't

Captain Kangaroo
Akron pulls away to an early lead before calling off the dogs in the second half.If we EVER call off the dogs vs. K.e.n.t I'm forfeiting my season tix.Take out the starters once it is a laugher, but keep the pedal to the floor. 63-6 with Aaris Reed and Carlton Jackson's monster mop up duty numbers netting them MAC Co-offensive Players of the Week. That's what I want to see!
Big Zip
Akron 25 Can't 7 -- rainy field and three missed extra points for Domonkos. Looked at the Minnesota box score to see what has happened with this team -- 10 offensive series in the Minnesota game and six turnovers. Since then the defense has stiffened up a little, but I don't think the offense has gotten much better. Akron will stop scoring at some point for a long period of time as they do weekly. This could be worse, but it won't .
Buckzip
20-13 Zips. I think only 1 missed XP. Along woth 2 chip shot field goals.

In a rivalry FB game, there's no such thing as calling off the dogs....unless you are Lee Owens...and hence you lose 41-38 and you lose your job....Akron 38Can't 10 Akron =
liljc
I am happy to see that none of the rest of you are buying into the hype. I agree. I think the Zips win by at least two touchdowns. 35-17 sounds good to me, although I don't think Can't can score 17 against our first team defense. They'll have to block a punt for a touchdown. zipsbandman
If JD really understands what this rivalry is about, he'll run up the score.
ZachTheZip
If you look at the competition Can't has played against thus far, you will see that they are much worse than their record shows. They lost to Army, and beat a winless Miami and a horrible BGSU, and got destroyed in their only game against a "quality" opponent. On the other hand, We have face only "quality" opponents so far this year. We had a competitive showing at Penn State (in a hurricane, no less), We beat NC State who just beat Boston College, We should have won at CMU, and We beat North Texas, who has been to 4 bowl games in the last 5 years ann will probably be Sun Belt Champs. Can't doesn't stand a chance on saturday. Their two wins were against sucky teams, they haven't face a balanced offensive team all year, and last but not least, !
Balki Bartokomous
Akron 68 K.e.n.t 0 through 3.5 quarters. At which point Martin pulls his team off the field and claims it is a government setup. K.e.n.t then calls it a season and begins crying about their crappy basketball team. Can't had wins over quality names, not teams. you say Miami (oh) and BG, and you remember when they were the class of the mac. anymore beating them is like beating Buffalo or Temple. Doesn't mean a thing. If the whole game is played, Akron 106, Can't 0. Akron's third string water boy has a career day, rushing for 209 yards and 6 TDs. Martin then puts a gun in his mouth like the warden from Shawshank Redemption.
roodi
flushes are not ready for a championship, but they are better and playing at home. Akron 20 - K-S-U 17 in overtime.

This could be worse, but it won't . I think Big Zip is closest to being correct. The game will be like the OU game last year. Hand wringer at half with Akron taking control in the second half to win what looks to be a lopsided score. Can't will not score much this week. Last week was the first week all year they scored a respectable amount of points and they did that after 6 BGSU turnovers. Can't is a pretender to the throne, not a contender. The two teams they have beaten have a combined win total of 1.I've already said it and I'll say it again, there is no way Can't wins three games in a row. Wally B
I guess the real question is Can't really that good or are the MiamiO's and Big Girl State Univ that bad this year. How this game turns out win or lose will tell us a lot about the rest of our season. Here's to a first half blowout Go ZIPS

gozips19
if they get out to a early lead the game won't be close as Can't can not throw the ball. if they have trouble in the rain and get off to a slow start akron will win a much closer game. reguardless akron has too much talent. zippyrifle32
i'll say it's closer due to the rivalry...akron - 32, Can't - 21jd realizes we don't have a kicker, so goes for the 2 every time...and converts on a side note, one of the soccer girls was making a joke about becoming a kicker for the football team. i think she's going to give it a try in the field house before approaching jd.
