blueandgold Posted April 12, 2017 Report Posted April 12, 2017 Nice mix of players on all the teams. Congratulations Big Dog!! Quote
clarkwgriswold Posted April 12, 2017 Report Posted April 12, 2017 Someone has finally admitted Big Dog weighs 3 bills! Good luck to him. It should give him a chance to perform against strong competition. Quote
kreed5120 Posted April 12, 2017 Report Posted April 12, 2017 Unless I missed someone, Jimmy Hall is the only other MAC player. Quote

ZIPS96 Posted July 5, 2017 Report Posted July 5, 2017 Big Dog is on the Rockets summer league roster. Quote

Isaiah was invited to their mini-camp from which their summer league will be selected. Hope the mini-camp goes well and he makes the summer roster. Quote
LZIp Posted July 8, 2017 Report Posted July 8, 2017 Looks like Big Dog's NBA experience is going to be limited to a Summer League tryout. He has not made the cut. Quote
clarkwgriswold Posted July 10, 2017 Report Posted July 10, 2017 Let me preface this by saying I am a Big Dog fan and appreciate all he did for the Zips. That being said, he's not an NBA player. The pro game has moved away from traditional post up big men and given his "physical stature" he can't get up and down the floor as required by the NBA game. His ability to get back down the floor on defense and his inability to defend the pick and roll were exposed repeatedly. He certainly has some offensive skills, but they are not enough to make up for his other shortcomings in the context of NBA play. 1 Quote

I'm going to assume you meant his inability to get back down the floor on defense. I agree 100% with everything you are saying. I can see him being a dominate in some league overseas, but he just doesn't have what it takes to cut it in the NBA. Quote

Yep, that and his slowness of foot hampers him defending the pick and roll. I'm still having nightmares from the 1st ten minutes of the NIU game with Marin Maric beating him down the floor repeatedly for layups. 1 Quote
