TennZip
Info on their stadium.... their attendance has really been down this year... 833 last week... back in 2014....they were getting crowds of 5,000 to 7,000 I am sure that Larry Williams will make several buses available for fans to see the mediocre football team get pulverized by Toledo in the MAC title... mr. Marquette...better make sure...that he makes a bus available for the AK Rowdies to travel down to Lolla-Land !!! http://www.uoflsports.com/facilities/?id=10
Hilltopper
This is really strange. The team just made a post on Facebook announcing an event for next Saturday at Cub Cadet field 4pm. https://www.facebook.com/events/2008871652462340/?ti=as
skip-zip
Man, that ONE SPOT in the seeding has come back to really be costly to us. It sure would have been nice to play this game at home. I hope that if enough people want to go to the soccer game, bus transportation will be provided. But I wonder if there will be enough interest in a 3rd round tournament soccer game with the overwhelming demand to follow the MAC East Champs on a much shorter ride to Detroit on Saturday morning? Maybe it would be different if it were an NCAA final or something. Good luck to our boys in Louisville!!

TennZip
Interesting....and maybe encouraging stat Louisville mens soccer this year is 6-0 on the road and 7-2-4 at home this year
SBZipfan
Yes, Massey has Louisville's home-field advantage in the bottom 20 in D1. (So is Wake's.)
Zip_ME87
No time for 'Woe is me. If we just had the 4 seed.' The Zips' seeding in this tournament was fair. Our Zips can do this, but they have to want it more than Louisville. Given the way the Zips looked at the end of regulation v Wisconsin, I'm not sure that is the case. It's time to see if Jared, staff, and team can do something that Caleb Porter, staff, and team could not ... get to the College Cup without having a top 4 seed. Others have done it, but they wanted it more than their opponent and found the way to grind it out. Hopefully, these Zips will do the same and stop looking to the referees when they get a little bump. Man up. Hard nose soccer gets it done in this tournament. Go Zips!!! Let'sGoZips94
Interesting that 2 of the matches are Friday night. I hope we smoke them. This will be a war. My bulletin board would be one big Lolla quote, saying that he can't win a championship at Akron.
UAZipster0305
I love this match-up. I'd really enjoy beating UL en route to our second star! Take that, Lolla! I have watched parts of UL's other two Tournament matches, and honestly, I don't think they are a solid overall team. They counter well, but they do not possess the ball. It's very much a run-and-gun approach. Lolla has to play to the strength of the talent that exists, but this is exactly what soccer purists thinks is wrong with the collegiate approach to player development. Porter was a true innovator in this sense. Unfortunate that we can't have this match at home, but the seeding was fair. Who knows what made the committee see UL as #4 and us as #5. We'll never know, but this match-up proves that the seeding had merit. As pointed out by TennZip, it seems UL is more vulnerable at home anyhow. Let's take it to them! UAZipster0305
For anyone making the trip, Louisville is a really cool town. I recommend staying the weekend there, or at least overnight.

I'm staying near the airport which is close to UL's soccer stadium and Churchill Downs. Some will likely want to see the Louisville Slugger Museum (https://www.sluggermuseum.com/), but I'm more interested in the Kentucky Derby Museum (https://www.derbymuseum.org/) if I have time to do either. There may be other options, but I'm only there the one afternoon/night.

Very nice. Also, the park east of downtown and along the south end of the Ohio River is a very pleasant area to enjoy being outside. There is a pedestrian bridge with a spiral walk that lead all the way out and over the water. Cool vantage point and place for pictures. If you like architecture and historic homes, Old Louisville is worth seeing and conveniently close to UL. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_Louisville I am checking in with my domestic boss to give you the names of the restaurants we ate at. I will post publicly when I hear from her. Edited November 27, 2017 by UAZipster0305

Blue Dog Bakery http://www.bluedogbakeryandcafe.com/ Seviche...had a very memorable experience watching UK-Louisville in the NCAA Basketball Tournament there about three years ago. Great food and atmosphere. Ideal place to reward a special lady for traveling with you and sitting outside in the cold watching soccer. Worth showering and dressing nicely for as opposed to just coming directly from the game. http://www.sevicherestaurant.com/ Seneca Park is another nice outdoor area. The park I reference above is Louisville Waterfront Park with the Big Four Bridge. https://louisvillewaterfront.com/plan-your-visit/map/# Churchill Downs and the Slugger Museum seemed cliche' and like tourist traps. We didn't do them. Edited November 27, 2017 by UAZipster0305

I was just pointing out places where I've been on my visits there, which would have interest to sports fans. I assume you're all sports fans if you're going to a soccer tournament. The touristy crowd shouldn't be around this time of the year, and those are truly enlightening attractions. You'll be shocked to see that the Louisville Slugger factory/museum is still right in the city in an ancient building. Very authentic. You could also venture an hour South, and hit the Jim Beam property too. Sorry guys, I can't help you on the location of the illegal gambling, hookers, or dog fights in Louisville
