Day 1.  Game 1 under way.  Princeton & Middle Tennessee players did not know words to Hawai'i Pono'i, Hawaii's national anthem.  Coaches gotta prepare their teams better!!!

I know Akron has played MTSU like three times in fairly recent years but Coach Groce & the team weren't part of that.  I think it would be a fine matchup of two pretty athletic ball teams.  Raiders have come out of the half better and taken the lead.

Here's an intetesting fact:  Akron will be the "home" team again today.  In 2013 we sat at the home end of the court all three games!  GoZipBows!!

Good on the refs for getting that right. Very dirty. Good to see our players/coaches keep cool.

Pretty good first half. I love Cotton's passing eye and toughness. Way to get a big ejected from the game just by playing hard. Also love Ivey's response to run over to him quickly after that foul to make sure he kept his head. Especially since the two of them had a slight altercation last game.  Leading by four with no points from E-man and a rough offensive half for Duvivier is a half I'll take. One thing I didn't like was ESPN's research Department who claimed that the two schools have never met.

I didn't catch it live, but on replay, VERY unnecessary.  Not even remotely close to a basketball play.

A little surprised this thread isn't more active. A game on ESPNU vs the biggest name program we'll play all year and we're winning.

 

I'd like to see us adjust to the zone better and get the FT % up a bit in the 2nd.

Yep. V-shon waz very cool about it!  Way to ho Zips.  Lead by 4 at tbe break.  But we have a LOT of work left to do.  Poke has 3 PFs, Duvivs 2.  Let's start the second half the same as the first!
