This may have been addressed in other threads, but I couldn't find it easily. New turf coming is official based on an email today from the Akron Marathon Race Series folks. They had to change the course maps for the June 25th race to account for the turf replacement. Packet pick up is in the JAR and the finish line is in Coleman Commons. Both are usually inside Infocision.

That means we'll see our new primary logo between now and thenย ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’ช

I was at the Info yesterday looking through the gates & the old turf has definitely seen better days. Anymore it's barely even green ๐Ÿ˜‚ย

I thought the same thing last season!ย  I could've sworn they said they expected to get 25 years out of it when the stadium was being built.

I'm sure they did. Government agencies are notorious for inflating the useful life on capital projects to help justify the costs.

Well they way underestimated the useful life of the first artificial turf ever placed on the Rubber Bowl field.

The piece sitting on my bookshelf is as green as the day a friend of mine working as a turf installer freed it and presented it to me.
