No idea. There are also some players from Hoban that other schools seem to be inexplicably beating us to the punch on. How is that at all fathomable? Within the last couple days even KSUck’s brand new defensive coordinator has posted pics of recent visits to East, Buchtel, and Hoban. Makes me slightly ill.

Really strange. Any chance some type of resentment has built up with those schools and the Akron football program over the years? Not saying it’s happening here, but I have seen high schools blackball coaching staffs before about certain events they felt slighted over. It’s a new staff so I wouldn’t think that would be the case, but IDK.

I know local schools have felt slighted by some past coaching staffs, but like you said, this is a new staff.  Who knows, maybe they hit these Akron-area schools months ago & I just missed the tweets. We did offer ‘24 Hoban LB Rickey Williams, so I was excited about that one. He’s a stud.

what's a photo shoot day?

 

It is a unique opportunity to get recruits on campus. There is almost a limitless number of activities for the recruits. For example, some come to fire weapons at photos of things they dislike, others come to pose for glamour photos (you know, with one hand delicately touching their face). Older recruits (mostly portal transfers) come to have their photo taken as they compete in the shot drinking contest (no minors allowed). Some even don a Zips uniform and get their photo taken in it. But the whole photo shoot day is a double secret activity so don't tell anyone else about it.

I may be wrong, but I think this event is purely for the Tom Lemming (magazine?) photo shoot. That being said, it’s a great way to get recruits on campus to show off what Akron football has to offer. Even if it’s not in an official capacity.

So tell me how you selected the order to present the schools.

You could have used alphabetical order.

You could have used the order in which each school's recruiting efforts were ranked.

You could have used dozens of other criteria,

But it appears the order you used was random.

Kind of strange for such an organized guy.

They are listed by the date they were offered (oldest at the top and most recent at the bottom). Unfortunately, Rivals doesn’t list that in their data. 247 does, but it’s often wrong.
 

When I see an offer has been issued, or a prospect reaches out to me on Twitter, I’ll update the profile and post here. Every now and then I’ll go back through and update the prospects’ offer list.

Just a note about how things have changed around the program. I’m seeing a lot of excitement from prospects attending camps at Akron hoping to gain an offer. Didn’t see nearly as much of this last offseason.

That's definitely great to hear. Players WANT to come here...not just, oh "Akron is my backup plan".

JoeMo is a household name in the coaching and diehard college football fan circles - not so much the casual/surface level college football fan. Once there's more exposure to him, his brain, his staff, and his connections (the dude gets people to The League) - look out.

DB Marshall Washington committed to Monmouth. Disappointing as I thought he would be a nice addition.
 

ILB Nylan Brown committed to Kent State. We were his first offer, but I’m not sure if we pushed after landing Jason Hocker.

Not sure how JMU can be a favorite when he didn't include their mascot in the graphic, unless I'm blind and missing something. Looks like ODU, App State, Akron, and GASO for the mascots represented...

Good catch. JMU mascot isn’t included, but they are listed on the graphic. We probably shouldn’t be too hard on him as I’m sure he had someone else do the graphic.
