Let'sGoZips94 Posted November 1, 2024 Report Posted November 1, 2024 Sucks these games are on FloSports. I'm assuming the Big East tourney will also be on Flo? Quote

MDZip Posted November 1, 2024 Report Posted November 1, 2024 I'm grateful all of the Zips games weren't on Flo. 1 Quote
TennZip Posted November 2, 2024 Author Report Posted November 2, 2024 This article says that the last Akron vs. UConn matchup .....was in 2005 https://uconnhuskies.com/news/2024/11/1/mens-soccer-huskies-host-no-13-akron-on-senior-day.aspx Quote

Z.I.P. Posted November 2, 2024 Report Posted November 2, 2024 Regarding players with accumulated yellow cards (4?). Is Mitch Budler one of those players? I've seen a reference on social media that Brett Kaminski will play. Not sure of accuracy Quote
TennZip Posted November 2, 2024 Author Report Posted November 2, 2024 UConn leads 5-2 in shots Akron leads 3-1 in corners UConn has ball possession edge Quote
MDZip Posted November 2, 2024 Report Posted November 2, 2024 Eight minutes to go - UConn has yet to get a shot in goal. Of course the Zips have only one. Defense has been carrying the Zips during the conference season. Quote
zipsrule Posted November 2, 2024 Report Posted November 2, 2024 The Zips play to a scoreless tie. Quote
Zip_ME87 Posted November 2, 2024 Report Posted November 2, 2024 Zips with the lone SOG. Good result in a tough place. Some Zips may not have played as aggressively as usual. YC accumulation rises to 8 for post season. No worries. Looking forward to the home BE Tourney game on Nov 9th. GO ZIPS!!! Quote

MDZip Posted November 2, 2024 Report Posted November 2, 2024 DePaul sneaks through as the eight seed. Hope I don't regret my wish. 😊 Quote

Of course, both teams need to get wins at home on Nov. 9th. Quote

TennZip Posted November 2, 2024 Author Report Posted November 2, 2024 I would like to recognize and celebrate Malik Henry today. Josh Hardin was one of the players sitting on 4 yellows. For the majority of the 2nd half, Josh came out of the game. Malik moved from right winger to right back...with Maximus Barboto and Jack Roman getting most of the time at right winger I thought that Malik was outstanding in the 2nd half at right back. Malik would probably get more all league and all region recognition if he played all of his time at right winger. Malik probably does not get the recognition that he deserves because he splits his time between right winger and right back. This Akron fan.....greatly appreciates Malik being a true unselfish team player....and doing what is best to help the soccer zips win. Thank you much, Malik. 4 Quote

MDZip Posted November 3, 2024 Report Posted November 3, 2024 And still only one loss in two years of regular season conference play. Man where would the Zips be if they hadn't choked those two away against Temple and IU-Indy? But that's ok, maybe make some folks underestimate them. 6 Quote
