Copley Don Posted November 1, 2024 Report Posted November 1, 2024 (edited) The Gensler Era enters its second season kicking off hosting Georgia State in the MAC-Sun Belt Challenge Monday night. I'm not really sure what our expectations should be with Reagan heading to West Lafayette and a lot of new faces on the squad but I'm looking forward to seeing the girls back in action. Edited November 4, 2024 by Copley Don It’s actually HOME not away 🤦🏼♂️ 2 Quote

MDZip Posted November 4, 2024 Report Posted November 4, 2024 Opening game against Ga State, the offense looks ok, need a bit of work on the defensive side. Down 42-34 at the half. Quote
MDZip Posted November 5, 2024 Report Posted November 5, 2024 Man have they stepped it up defensively in the second half. Georgia state has yet to score. Zips lead by two. Quote
MDZip Posted November 5, 2024 Report Posted November 5, 2024 Wow from down by 8 at the half to up by 8 at the end of the third quarter. 23-7 quarter. 2 Quote
Blue & Gold Posted November 5, 2024 Report Posted November 5, 2024 Up 75-68 w/ the ball. 1 minute to play 🔥🔥 1 Quote
csims0917 Posted November 5, 2024 Report Posted November 5, 2024 Incredible turnaround in this one 1 Quote
MDZip Posted November 5, 2024 Report Posted November 5, 2024 Nice opening game win. 81-73. Down 15 early in the game. Nice contributions from several portal transfer players. 1 Quote
Copley Don Posted November 5, 2024 Author Report Posted November 5, 2024 What an impressive 3rd quarter! I also think the backdrops up top look sharp and create a more aesthetically pleasing, intimate, and focused game watch experience. Quote
zipsrule Posted November 8, 2024 Report Posted November 8, 2024 Zips down at the half to Binghamton, 32-26. Quote
MDZip Posted November 8, 2024 Report Posted November 8, 2024 They need to cut down on their turnovers and stop giving up so many critical offensive rebounds or this one will not go their way. Quote
zipsrule Posted November 8, 2024 Report Posted November 8, 2024 With 8:07 left in the 4th. we are down 47-40. Quote
MDZip Posted November 8, 2024 Report Posted November 8, 2024 Ugly 4th quarter collapse. Brown and Vejsicky had pretty good games but if you take them out of the shooting equation, the rest of the team shot only 27%. That isn't going to get it done. And Binghamton had nearly as many offensive rebounds as the Zips had defensive rebounds. Quote
ewbrooman1 Posted November 13, 2024 Report Posted November 13, 2024 I see most weekday home games are scheduled for 6 pm. It doesn't seem to me like that's going to help attendance much unless the food has gotten a lot better at the JAR. I know it will keep me away most nights. Quote
Z.I.P. Posted November 15, 2024 Report Posted November 15, 2024 Gensler's 2025 recruiting class includes Kailee Bransford, whose sister KK was two-time Ohio Miss Basketball at Cincinnati Mount Notre Dame and plays for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in South Bend. Interesting! Quote
Z.I.P. Posted November 16, 2024 Report Posted November 16, 2024 Zips tied up at 43 apiece with a very good Cleveland State team at the JAR at the half. Both teams are shooting lights-out. 58% CSU to 53% Akron. Vikings made 7 of 12 three-pointers to 4 of 9 for the Zips first half and surely can't keep that up the whole game! I believe Akron led 30-22 before CSU went on about a 17-8 run, but the home team responded to draw even after 2 quarters. Quote
Z.I.P. Posted November 16, 2024 Report Posted November 16, 2024 Taniesha Clarke leading Akron with 20 points midway through 3rd quarter. Tied 55 all. Quote
Z.I.P. Posted November 16, 2024 Report Posted November 16, 2024 62-61 Vikings after 3 quarters. This type of performance should be the confidence builder the team needs. Akron scores first to take the lead in the final period. Quote
Z.I.P. Posted November 16, 2024 Report Posted November 16, 2024 Kam'ten Rhodes and Alexis Mobley with a pair of crucial 3-pointers give Akron the lead 79-74 with 1:15 remaining. Upset Alert!! Quote
Copley Don Posted November 16, 2024 Author Report Posted November 16, 2024 On the cusp on a HUGE win. Up 8 under a minute left. MOBLEY eating today. Awesome. 1 Quote
Z.I.P. Posted November 16, 2024 Report Posted November 16, 2024 Closing it out with free throws. 84-74 27 seconds to go. Quote
