2024-2025 Zips Women's Basketball

Recommended Posts

The Gensler Era enters its second season kicking off hosting Georgia State in the MAC-Sun Belt Challenge Monday night. I'm not really sure what our expectations should be with Reagan heading to West Lafayette and a lot of new faces on the squad but I'm looking forward to seeing the girls back in action.

Ugly 4th quarter collapse. Brown and Vejsicky had pretty good games but if you take them out of the shooting equation, the rest of the team shot only 27%. That isn't going to get it done. And Binghamton had nearly as many offensive rebounds as the Zips had defensive rebounds.

Gensler's 2025 recruiting class includes Kailee Bransford, whose sister KK was two-time Ohio Miss Basketball at Cincinnati Mount Notre Dame and plays for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in South Bend.  Interesting!

Zips tied up at 43 apiece with a very good Cleveland State team at the JAR at the half.  Both teams are shooting lights-out.  58% CSU to 53% Akron.  Vikings made 7 of 12 three-pointers to 4 of 9 for the Zips first half and surely can't keep that up the whole game!  I believe Akron led 30-22 before CSU went on about a 17-8 run, but the home team responded to draw even after 2 quarters.
