Sergeant Zip
Frye is a potential candidate to join the Raiders. He apparently got a look from the Dolphins too. The Dolphins signed Sage Rosenfels.

akronzips71
Chase played great yesterday. Even dropped back on pass coverage! I think Giants v Dallas is the Sunday night game, so everyone can see that one.
ZachTheZip
Andre Jones signed with the AFL's San Jose SabreCats. We also have five players who declared for the draft. I have to doubt whether any of them will make it, but OT Jake Anderson, OG Zac Kasparek, DE Hasan Hazime, DT Dan Marcoux, and DT Oren Wilson all declared. ZachTheZip
I thought Hazime was supposed to come back for another year? Ah. You're right. My mistake. I saw him listed on some draft sites as a potential pro and wasn't thinking. So we have a guy with possible pro potential returning on the D Line next season. akronzips71
Chase was excellent today. He has been the key to the Giants comeback. Amazing, they cut him and now he is the starting MLB.
ZipRoo
Just one more local talent that the Browns overlooked in their own backyard. Cleveland couldn't make a quality personnel move if it slapped Shurmur awake.

Also, not like the Browns have Cribbs or anything.

Also, not like the Browns have Cribbs or anything. Blackburn was available until week 5. He was waived by the Giants and brought back due to injuries. No other team offered him a job. Now he is the starting MLB on a playoff team that could go all the way. The football gods smile in strange ways.

Zip_ME87
Giving Chase...Blackburn awarded special recognition by Coughlin from Sunday’s rout over the Falcons. Our other (ailing) Giant was also mentioned...Blackburn then started the final four games of the regular season, plus the playoff game against the Falcons. He might rank as the Giants’ best in-season addition since Domenik Hixon in the 2007-08 championship year. Back to Chase...during the playoff game vs the Falcons, the announcers mentioned Chase as being instrumental to the Giants' late season success, including the game they were announcing. So we have a guy with possible pro potential returning on the D Line next season. If I sign up a boll weevil for the NFL draft, does it automatically have pro potential? After his football career is over, Blackburn plans to become a math teacher and possibly a coach, too (if he does both, it will be in high school — if he just coaches, it will be in college). I can tell you this: Chase is not the best athlete. He is not that fast. But he plays his ass off every minute of every game. If you can teach that, he should coach at Akron when he is done playing (and hopefully after his second Super Bowl ring).

Dr Z
Free agent Domenik Hixon (torn ACL) says his "straight-line speed" is back to 100 percent, and that he's doing agility drills at roughly 75 percent. Hixon, of course, is recovering from his second torn right ACL is as many years. His agent said Monday he is expected to re-sign with the Giants, though that could depend on the results of an upcoming physical. If cleared for training camp, Hixon should compete for return duties.
