InTheZone
I hate rooting for the Flushes.... but I am.Jarvis and Edelman are running wild, Edelman is throwing the ball well.
Zipgrad01
Can't still up 23-14 with 8 minutes left in the 4th. I am trying, but I just can't get myself to root for them.
ZachTheZip
I'm rooting for the MAC. Any MAC non-conference win is good for us. Buffalo lost to Rutgets 38-3Miami beat Ball State 14-13, which is good for the MAC East. Since non-divisional games don't have any bearing on standings it doesn't affect us. Zips fan
I have no problem rooting for any MAC school in the OOC games. We need the conference to do well. If our conferencemates get the job done now, it will look much better when we beat the flushes later in the year.
Zipgrad01
1st down Can't with about 3 minutes left. That just about wraps it up. That is a huge win going to a Big 12 school and getting a W.
RowdyZip
Looks like Can't's gonna pull this one out with under 4 minutes to go with a 9 point lead. impressive.
Zipgrad01
Ballgame. What a huge win for Can't. If Toledo or NIU can pull an upset this could be a hell of a weekend for the MAC.

But a road win is always impressive. Even though
RowdyZip
Wow. it's final. It looks like K.E.N.T. pulled out a victory by playing LESS horribly than Iowa State. Edelman 17/25 161yds 1td/2int, 75 yds rushing. Jarvis 113 on the ground. Both teams lost one fumble and were picked off twice. 12 penalties for 104 yards between the two. Just about equal possession time. Nonetheless, great job K.E.N.T. in knocking of a BCS team from the Big 12.

johnnyzip84
With this result and Miami's last minute win over Ball St. (there goes my "Ball St. wins the West" prediction...lol.....well, it's still early in the season, I suppose), the MAC East is looking like it might be a tougher nut to crack than some prognosticators (including me) have predicted. The Zips are going to NEED to play with intensity and desire this entire season. I will say that Martin has brought that to the Flushes.....their intensity, beginning with last season, is night and day from what it used to be. I think we can expect Ohio, Miami, K.E.N.T., and BG (we'll see about Temple and Buffalo) to all play that way, so there is only one way to deal with it.....MATCH it or EXCEED it. Let's hope we all see this fire in the Zips this seaon, beginning tomorrow. GO ZIPS!!!!
Zipmeister
Hey uakronkid, Crossover wins can be real important. As I recall (although memory is fading), that was the third tiebreaker that got Akron into the MAC championship game two years ago.

jeaglet1
Hey uakronkid, Crossover wins can be real important. As I recall (although memory is fading), that was the third tiebreaker that got Akron into the MAC championship game two years ago. I believe this has changed, with the addition of Temple, and the unbalanced schedule, the tie breakers changed too. Heres an article from the Kalamazoo Gazzette (Link) that explains it.It says... "head-to-head play is the first tie-breaker, followed by each team's winning percentage against divisional opponents in rank order of the final standing. Overall MAC record rounds out the top three (of five) options, figured by winning percentage. "
johnnyzip84
One injured QB will turn that team upside down.I agree with that. There is no question how much he means to that team. Since he carries the ball a lot and plays with that sort of "wreckless abandon", it just might happen. But I don't want to count on it, because I really want to be able to scream on Sept 22 that
skip-zip
"F" Can't State. We have their number on September 22nd. Their QB is a little bit elusive, but we are a much more experienced and quicker defense this year. Plus, we were not ready for them last year. I guarantee you that we'll be ready this time. Then, Can't will fall back into a 15-year hiatus once again, and we won't have to have this discussion anymore. 74ZIP
say folks...bunch of bad omens with the can't win..first...unless the Zips beat army...all we are going to read in the leakin' urinal is can't....can't....can't...for 3 months or more...the other obvious problem is can't is going to be REAL tough to beat at the Bowl especially after the Zips get their behinds kicked at OSU and play another ugly game at indiana...the scheduling may cost the Zips any advantage they may have had by playing at home...if they are not real ready to play tomorrow they could go through the first 4, 0-4....oh my! Buckzip
We should win tomorrow and have a good shot of beating Indiana. If we want to turn this program around we have to beat teams like Army and lower BCS teams like Indiana. Then we should be Can't.We could and should be 3-1 after our first 4 games.Anything less than that and I will consider it a dissapointment.
