O.K. , here we go!!! At Miami tomorrow night. What are your thoughts today? 1.) Does KD start B. McKnight again?2.) Is Ced going to be able to give the same type of effort as vs BG?3.) Will KD continue to try to have C. McKnight play with his back to the basket?4.) Will we try too early in the game to start hoisiting up a lot of 3's? O.K. Let's hear it!!!

I think the B. McKnight thought was that he could give us some quick offense at the beginning of the game...something we had not had in awhile. I think it's time now to drop the idea that this guy is ready to do great things. Chris is once again going to be a big key. With Jeremiah, or without Jeremiah. With Bardo's limited offensive skills at this point, he is the only legitimate threat to score in the post. This game, or the game at OU are MUST WIN if we want that 1st round bye.

There are times during the course of a game that a coach must let go, and let a player's natural ability take over. We witnessed a brief stretch against N. Ill when Brett went to the basket nicely. Let him do it sometimes, it is the only way to gain confidence, even if the game is on the road.
Why wouldn't KD want B. McKnight driving to the basket?

That's a good question... he played for few minutes against NIU, driving to the basket, was 4/4 on FG, was substituted and never played again. It seemed like KD didn't like that.

Don't you guys notice there are certain players KD will play over and over again, no matter if they are doing bad or not, gives them chances over and over, then there are others that get one or two chances, if you don't get it done, you are done....

You sound like an angry parent.Give some actual evidence that this happens "over and over."

Observation, we just talked about it, take for instance Brett, gave him a chance, I may be wrong, but I think tomorrow he will not play much at all we will see. Then others, that make mistakes over and over (they are learning) get to stay in over and over again, not going to give names, what would that accomplish. If you don't see it, then you don't. KD just confuses me alot with his way he plays players.

sometimes it does not make any sense to me either.i realize you have to play defense also, but when no one on the team is scoring you can bury a hole for yoursleves.maybe kd will be more comfortable with b.mc night next year i am not going to question kd,but i think he will play a senior over a underclassmen out of loyalty.middleton was giving us nothing for most of the year, and should of had his minuets cut.kd played him and it seems to be working, but i am just pointing the fact out.anyone who says ced should have been playing that much based on performance is full of it.

you want examples ok.......over the course of past semester KD has said over and over again that Brett is not showing him enough during practice. He also has said that he is hard on him but only because he expects a lot from him. you don't practice well, you don't play. during the NIU game where he was 4-4 and looking good with the ball in his hands he gave up 6 points and left the rest of the team trying to pick up his slack on D as he was again lost. Brett tends to float a little on D and teams pick up on that and exploit it. since Akron doesn't have a big time shot blocker KD can't afford to keep him out there for extended periods of time. He will become a great player at Akron, it will just take some time. :screwks:

ok so he sits him when opponents pick up on his bad defense, why not. Ride his hot hand until his defense is exposed, nothing wrong with that.

Tied at 27 at halftime. Typical Miami game. Slow, kind of low scoring, defensive ballgame. Cedrick looks to be getting his legs back a bit which is a good sign for us. Zips got in foul trouble early, mainly on Brett McKnight picking up 3 almost right in a row and some ticky tack bs called against Bardo. Miami seems REALLY concerned with McNees (rightly so). We have to take advantage of that and look for the open man. T.Pollitz with a couple too many second chance points there, but the Zips have gotten some second chance points of their own. Miami has turned it over quite a bit. We need to take more of an advantage of that. Made them pay early, but let them off the hook a few times later in the half.

Speaking of noticing things...Anyone notice how terrible these announcers with Akron factoids? Some highlights (and these are quoting these guys)* McKnight scoring his first FG of the season in the first half? huh...* Dials coming around a pick and nailing a 3 "A wing and a prayer" Yeah - That's something that he does daily...* Middleton slamming home a dunk, when it was QuadeI could go on and on, but I want to watch this game....maybe with mute on for the last 8 minutes.Looking like Ced is maybe coming back to his ole self?!?!

Yeah, these announcers have been REALLY painful to listen to. Don't forget that Chris McNees was about to come into the game. Ohh and Dials is apparently still looking for the 1000 career points mark.
