I just came through Kalamazoo, Michigan, on my way to a vacation in Muskegon/Grand Haven. I stopped by WMU and had a look around. Beautiful campus. I found an open gate @ Waldo Stadium and had an extensive look around. Man, I tell you what, Waldo Stadium is nothing, nothing, absolutely NOTHING in comparison to the Info!!! Good grief, if football facilities are what attract many top-shelf players, we're going to absolutely dominate the MAC real soon!Btw, I stopped by Bell's because it got such great reviews by fellow ZNO brothers. Unfortunately, it was a cash-only establishment and the atm they had inside the joint was out of funds! Lol. Oh well, no Bell's for me!

Oooh, I can see the added staircase for the band that they added on cam 2. (yes they forgot to make a way for us to get onto the field, but yes they promptly fixed it)P.S. Band camp started Saturday, and it looks like we are going to have an exceptional product for you folks by game time.

I would have knocked off a liquor store to get cash for Bell's. :gun: , then :CK_brew:

Seriously - over $60 million dollars and no one thought to ask, "Hey, how will the band get from the stands to the field?" That's funny!

I haven't had an issue with finding Bells around here to be honest. I also think that Waldo looks much better full than empty, the main stands look a little ragged. Other that. That, I thought the atmosphere was great!

I believe there was a post on the site asking if the large Zippy logos atop the scoreboard will light up.I was in Akron tonight and I can confirm that it lights up, on both the stadium side as well as the Exchange Street side. It looks great!I forgot to take pics though, sorry :(

Work continues on the fortified stairwell roof structure.

Just what all kinds of research go on at UA?! Do they know something we don't?!
I think this is the first product of the corrosion program. The roofs are designed to last 100,000 years.
Maybe those are lights the guy is installing atop those entrance buildings today. That might look kind of cool. I notice there are lights in the brick posts between the wrought iron fencing, and in the low brick wall atop the front of the north end zone building.

Just got back from spending 13 hours in the Info today and I have to say, none of the pictures, videos, webcam views or descriptions you've seen or read on here do it justice. It is absolutely incredible and all of us are estatic to call it home instead of the Rubber Bowl. Today they were installing more blue pads along the concrete wall in front of the scoreboard and laying bricks by the entrance near the field house. One poor guy started mowing the grass hill under the scoreboard with a push mower until he realized it was too steep and had to use a weedeater. He didn't finish until about 6:00 when the rain came. One thing to note. They forgot to build stairs for the band to get into the stands, so we are one section closer to the scoreboard then shown in the seating charts, with students on both sides and directly above the visiting team locker room. ;) The aluminum seats amplify the sound, the place is going to be LOUD on game days. Another interesting note is that it can get 10-15 degrees warmer than it is at street level, and I'm sure it'll be even hotter with 30 some thousand screaming Zips fans. Not one bad seat in the house, when you're in the upper deck you feel like you're looking straight down at the action. And for all of you who were "worried" about the drainage, we found out at about 6:00 today that it's working just fine. See you September 12th, and DON'T MISS PREGAME!!!

I don't think they forget to build stairs. Most stadiums use portable stairs for bands to get on and off fields at your newer stadiums or stadiums with the high walls. I also seriously doubt you'll have a heat issue for most of the home games in NE Ohio.
